Cook in his element on these kinda flat dead pitches. No pace or swing to expose his limited ability.

lol - click bait is back.

I suppose those decks in Australia in 10/11 were dead when he scored those big hundreds? Of course he can't play swing, coming from England. In Asia he has a better conversion rate than Lara and joint top of overseas players in terms of centuries (with Kallis). Maybe give him some credit where it's due? He probably has more test hundreds in Asia than current Australian top 6.

Kallis didn't boost his stats by feasting on Bangladesh.

When the the pitch become a road? Just because it's not a raging green top doesn't make it a road. I'm sure the Pakistani fast bowlers will get more out of the pitch.

Spot on

Cook's entire career is about quantity over quality.

being 12th on all time list of test run scorers (2nd highest scoring opener and will pass the other soon enough)
14th highest century maker with more to come
will pass 10k test runs and prob finish in the top 6 run scorers ever

I'd take that with ltd ability

Cook going passed Gavaskar will prove what? Gavaskar was twice the batsman Cook will ever be.

And Cook with an average of 46/47 might fluke 12,000/13,000 runs but will be the less talented. More to do with these flat docile pitches in modern cricket.

You realise Cook is very likely going to beat Tendulkar's test run record?

Id be happy fluking 12/13k test runs as its not all about talent its what you do with the talent you've got

Gavaskar was awesome and watching him stand up to the WI quartet was something special but you can only play against what is in front of you

unless we are saying no batsmen from now can be considered great due to pitches and bowlers so smith root kholi may as well retire
