Bat for tailender
« on: October 15, 2015, 07:14:17 AM »

Morning all,

Need some advice on a bat. Being a bowler, I tend to bat between 8-11 depending on the match and situation. I wouldn't class my batting quality to a top order batsman however I wouldn't say I'm useless either.

Having had my trusted MRF Genius X for 10 years, it's time to upgrade!

I play at park league level and have put aside around £100. Would that be a sufficient amount?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

What kind of batsman are you as a tailender? How heavy can you handle? Favourite shots? Are you looking for instant performance or another bat that will last 10years?

I would say I'm a more off sided player with the drive through cover being my favourite shot.

In terms of a player - i wouldn't say I'm a typical hit and hope tailender but do lack the discipline of a top order batsman. Doesn't have to be a bat that lasts another 10 years

B&S fits your budget nicely, or put just alittle more into the budget and go for a custom made lower grade willow like a butterfly from Aldred or Red Ink.

Job done, almost impossible to do better for £100 without going second hand.

Thank you all!

I assume 2.9-2.10 is classed as lightweight?

Thank you. will review all the options before making a decision. Have a few months before the new season starts so no need to rush :-)
