Your kit for the 2016 season
« on: October 15, 2015, 07:37:43 PM »

Having been confident I wasn't going to buy any new kit this year, it appears this hasn't been the case.

Pictures coming tomorrow from me, in the meantime I think we need a 2016 thread.

Get your pictures here!!

I think this needs to include purchases made after 2015 kit had been declared - you know - those impulse purchases mid season. It's only right and proper - otherwise it's like building a new school ten miles away and calling it an annex oops!  :o

I started purchasing this stuff in bits at the start of September for the club I've found, but essentially preparing for winter nets/2016 season. You will notice a constant theme and I'm noooooooooooooooooo sorry, haha. Got most of this stuff in the ongoing sales, pleased so far. Remaining items are a bat and duffle which I'll sort when the new ranges become available, and a pair of spikes before the season starts.

Bats
Spartan MC4000
B3 Custom

Softs
New Balance TC 860 pads
New Balance TC 560 Gloves

Protection
Ayrtek Premium Steel
Aero P2 Strippers
Aero Box

Shoes
New Balance 4030s
New Balance 4040s

Misc
GN Supernova Duffle
Puma bat mallet
Readers bat cone
Salix Bat Wax
GN oil
Puma grips
Various balls

I'll get phtos of all mine when I'm at home; however, there is quite a lot:

BATS
2 x Kippax Collusus
2 x Custom Hunts
2 x Newbery Krakatoa SPS
1 x NB 560 (Red one)
1 x Adidas Master Blaster Elite

GLOVES
2 x GM Original LE
1 x Newbery Thruxton (Top Line)
2 x GN Powerbow Players
1 x GN Prestige

PADS
1 x GN Powerbow Players
1 x GM D30 909

MISC
1 x Shrey (Masuri Old Style)
1 x Masuri (Old Style)
1 x Aero P1 Strippers
1 x Box
1 x Woodworm Bag - f**king massive and for the money... a bargain!
Flip Flops
Sunglasses

Probably a load more stuff I've completely forgotten to mention!

Areas I'll be adding to:

New Pads - probably GN to match the gloves, and also as I've got little legs, so the GM stuff is huge on me!
New Gloves - add another set of GN Prestige to the collection; seem to have gelled well with them! And they've lasted 3 innings and 2 nets so far - so about as long as the Powerbow Players ones lasted before they got a huge hole in the them!

May also treat myself to a new box ;) Small things that count eh...

@Centurion is that a free stuff sponsorship, or the Team Kookaburra xx% off RRP "sponsorship"?
If the latter be careful, a teammate was "sponsored" in that way a couple of seasons ago, and even with the discount off RRP from Kookaburra it was cheaper to go to our local sport shop  :-[

Bats

- Preordered a GN Select from the Classic range from IJC, this will be my main match bat
- GN F18 (backup match bat)
- GN Nemesis (2015) something a bit different that I picked up cheap at the end of the season.  Not had chance to use it yet but will probably aim to use it in T20.
- GN Matrix (indoor nets, wet weather bat).
- B3 butterfly (wet weather bat).

Gloves

- Will be ordering GN Prestige
- Omega 500's picked up for cheap this season, still going strong and one of the best gloves i've used.
- Oblivion E41's Test - back ups, are a little tight even for my small hands but still a good glove.

Pads

- Aiming to get either Prestige or Legends depending on budget.
- Omega 500's, picked up with the gloves for a decent price.  Really light pad, not the greatest of protection but to be expected for the price but still do the job really well.

Bag

- GN Prestige (2015) no need to change this unless a duffle can sway me.

Shoes

- NB 40/40 (2014) still going really well.  If they go during the season I've got some Adidas from this year as back up.

Helmet

- Masuri Test (club custom) great helmet once I got used to the increase in weight from my old Titanium.  Still not sure about whether to add a Stemguard or not.

Just need to add some new thigh pads in and I'm done.  Interested to see the 'off the shelf' Strettons when released.

It's not free stuff but it is 50-60% off everything. I was sceptical to sign a contract and to find out that it was cheaper to buy in shops but 50-60% sounded like a good deal.  :)

Let's just say that a significantly better discount than my mate was given!
With that much off you'll be fine, just wanted to make sure nobody else got stung in the same way as he did  :)

seems people settling on kit earlier than previous years

be fun to see how this changes by the time the season comes

Bats: Gray Nics Maverick Limited edition, Helygen Ghost players and a bat I made myself for netting.
Gloves: Not sure what gloves to get I'm definitely tempted by the new H4l range!
Pads: Helygen players, and an old pair of redwoods sprayed black for T20
Thigh pad: Aero p1 if I can stretch the kit budget would love some Stretton's
Helmet: Masuri Vision Titanium.
Bag: Gray Nics Players duffle.
Shoes. Puma Evospeed 1.3 (Blue) and New Balance not sure what model but they're blue as well.
Misc: Might invest in a box of hand warmers for those early season games up int Yorkshire!!!!
