2016 Lightweight SH Bats
« on: October 18, 2015, 05:11:52 AM »

Guys,

I'm trying to find the good light weight bat in 2016 range. As of now i have nailed down GN Supernova, GN Powerbow 5 and Kook Kahuna Lite. If you guys know some please pitch in your findings here.

Thanks.

Where are you, what's the shape you're after and what's your budget? If I were looking for a light GN, I'd look towards the GN Elite Lite - made by Stuart Kranzbuhler. That said, why not just one whipped up by one of the sponsors on the forum? I've also heard that Blank Bats have some light ones in stock.

The Adidas pellara bats that i have looked at were all light bats ( all under 2.8 or 2.9 i think ) you can get one from Adidas specialty sports there was a 75% bat sale about a month ago and a few cbf members snatched up a great deal - there isnt a sale going on right now but i'm there there will be soon :) OR you can ask a few cbf sponsors and get a custom made light bat

I'm in USA, I already made the pre order with IJC but did still deciding which one to go either branded(GN & Kook) or Custom Bats and my budget is 150 GBP and little flexible. I don't see the Custom bats price range.

Thanks.

Prices are there if you look bud, any of the forum bat makers maybe able to help with a lighter bat.

Talk to them and have one made.

But Vitas and IJC could source u a nice light also..

Thanks Mel Jessop. I don't know whether IJC stocks Red Ink 2016 range. X2 may be suitable for me.

In that case, why don't you just contact @ItsJustCricket and ask them for their advice? They have hand picked all their bats or at least tapped them up, so they can give you the best idea about their light bat range at your price point. They are making or have just made trips to some of the bat manufacturers or distributors' warehouses - perhaps they could help you out with a light H4L Devil?? That's the way I'd go.

I really liked your write up on your decision to use B3 bats. I also liked your 'mission impossible' Screaming Cat refurb. Was that seriously used as a backyard cricket bat? Blasphemy!!!

Yup. And it was when i was just starting. Black mould was terrible. It was a beautifully pinging blade too. He even tried it in the nets again.

Got to start somewhere and I appreciate every bat i've touched. Early on I used to fully remove the stickers, but because its only a hobby and replacement stickers are hard to get i have tried to keep them now where possible.

Got three Kookaburras atm for knockin and if i didn't have one of elivar's shed LV mallets it would take weeks. Mallet, bat, beer and the radio turned to my Adelaide 5AA sports show. No profit in it once i pay for all the beer me and the customers drink lol
