Ill health and a crowd funding venture for £400k to start an academy that didn't make the investment figure. Sad really as he wanted to pass his skills into the next generation.

I believe Chad had already provided @The Doctor with his scat to scan and replicate via the wizardry at B3? Unless my memory and too many strong German beers fails me. They really are a great bat and Mine has and still remains the best I've ever used...it's now under the stairs having been retired after 5/6 season me use.

Enjoy the hit with the tomorrow/today chaps as I can't imagine many more If any will be made if JM had hung up his drawknife!

It's a custom profile so b3 won't have the numbers to make but more than happy to send if anyone does want it done

Scat, scat, scat!!!

@simonmay5 Can I please advise you to never sell the Screaming Cat? Those bats are absolutely terrific! One of kind! I'm sure it will serve you exceptionally well.

I am looking to get a third one locally :(

Well done, getting the two bats @simonmay5 love the shape of that scat!

Was the fella selling them local to you or did you have to drive quite a way? Very good move going to see him in person

What does it matter what Si paid for the bats?

I think it is because he did what so many of use wanted to do, but many of us live too far away to do. I'd have thought most people in the local area would have done the same thing.

It's a lot of jealousy as he probably got a very good deal. However, the other guy must have also go a decent deal else he would not have sold it.  I bet the guy must have wondered what was going on, I bet he had loads of emails, he certainly didn't reply to mine.

One question though Simon.  He stated it was unused, but the blade showed red cherry marks.  Had it been used at all? It certainly looks like it hasn't now.

I touched this piece of wood today and wafted it around. Certainly an unusual profile, not seen it very often. Looks in very good condition.

In that you don't see it very often but its a lovely long middle and you would think it would be copied more.

I too was lucky enough to lay my humble palms upon it
Cracking bat and a shame that no more will be made by Julian

Simons a true gent for letting us mere mortals have a hit with a bit of bat exotica
