Southee only bowled 3 overs. I think he went off with an illness.

The wicket was flattish, a bit slow from what I watched. However it really shouldn't matter how flat it was, these were two batsman not good enough to play in the FC competition this week, these were third tier players, they bowled very poorly.

Neesham, Craig, Henry all look poor. Bracewell looked alright.

cricket.com.au has a live stream, no commentary though but you will need to sign up for an account (I used my Google+ account to log in). They also stream the shield matches (SA v NSW has full commentary).

Wagner is playing FC cricket in NZ and Milne is injured. Neither are on tour?

From all accounts, the pitch was expected to be a road - nice to work our bowlers into the ground on a lifeless pitch before throwing us into a traditionally green tinged humid Gabba.

Still, Henry really needs to up his game, he's a far better bowler than he has been playing of late...

Apologies, I don't know the faces yet, meant Neesham, Craig & Henry. Misread the score card. Pitch was meh, not quite the road they played on in Canberra, Bankstown is a little sticky and a bit slow. Still very different from teh Gabba.

Finch is absolutely not the future.

Needs to bank some FC runs to be considered.

Currently is the #3 opener for Victoria behind Quiney, Dean as well possibly Rogers (when he returns). However Quiney is well over the hill, and a spud so I would think Finch might be playing shield soon.

I think saw McCullum and Guptil bowling together for a while yesterday. Hopefully they won't be needed next week.... :o

Pitch might be a road but it's always great to see a Victorian getting a biggie!!! Good to see Aaron Finch has learnt to bat a full day rather his usual crash, bang and wallop method. Ryan Carters is gonna be close to national sectional with a good season with NSW. As for Finch, he needs a 1000+ summer with Victoria to get near a Test cap.

Finch might not be good enough, but Carters pretty much played every game last year for NSW, so he can't be that bad...

Maybe when Warner and Smith go off for national duty, but at current he isn't good enough to be selected for NSW.

Gee, what an indictment on his ability. He's next in line after the 2nd and 9th best batsmen in international test cricket.

Solid argument mate  ???
