I do love this forum!
Since Streaky's blog every other bat posted has been diagnosed as being storm damaged! :'D

The stain is a water mark and doesn't effect performance or durability.

update: Sorry was looking at the vertical stains on my phone, not sure about the horizontal stain - I think it's a bar stain or hardbar? Might of been Dave or Streaky who mentioned this to me.

looks bleached willow the bubble give it a good sand I bet it's butterfly  . It's something all the big brands use to do to sell there ugly timber but this does not make them bad bats

I also received this GN F18. It's a bit grubby in the pics but has cleaned up well with the removal of the price labels and a quick wipe with white spirit. Weighs just over 2.9.

Not sure what possessed them to stick a fibre sheet underneath it. Would look much better if they had done the same as GM.

A scalpal blade, some PVA glue to re-apply the front sticker (optional) and some white spirit will sort that out!

Can I call first dibs on any F18 blades people decide to move on  :-[

How does it tap up? Weight / specs? Happy with it, given what you have spent? The Power sticker.... is it staying or is it going?

I'd carefully remove all the stickers sand all the bat and then re apply the stickers

The bat is 2.9 and for 11 pounds what not to like other than the really bleached willow I am tempted to sand right back to show the butterfly stain off then give it a coat of oil very pleased with the way the bat taps up and I will be loosing the power sticker

Good move, might bring a bit of colour back into it.

They must soak them in bleach as it really goes a long way in to the cleft took quite a bit of time to bring any colour back to the bat

I had a feeling you would keep it, but that's a proper bat!
Nice weight and a beautiful butterfly, who wants clean G1 blades anyway? I love a blemished bat  :D
