Knocking in wise, the Slaz claim they are ready to play, as do the GM - both with the warnings about giving it a bit of final prep. Smashing the GM with the mallet is my method. The GN hasn't go any mention of being knocked in and the Kook is soft beyond belief.

How does it tap up? Plenty of ping with mine, want some dry weather for a few throwdowns!

The v100? I'm not an expert but the slaz bats seemed to tap up nicely and were well finished. Whoever makes their bats seems to be doing a good job.

Delivered yesterday - 2 x V100 xcells and 2 x Kook Bubble Powers and 1 x V1200 boom-bat type thing (to be donated to the club) - all very nice indeed actually - will post pics as and when. Certainly one of the Bubbles is a belter and despite the bleached willow has lovely straight grains and picks up like a wand, certainly felt less than it's 2 11 dead weight - I could use it and I'm a 2 8 / 2 9 man. The other Bubble is no looker (cross-weave anti-scuff on that bad boy me thinks). None of these are for me or the boy - as we are very well furnished in the bat department thanks very much - but contrary to one or two comments on this thread, certainly a couple of these could very well be "match bats" for some folks. Have one or two lads lined up to take bats off my hands - so the timing of this "flash sale" was serendipitous. Will be knocked in and ready for indoor nets in January... try B4 you buy!

My take away from this is when that sale happens, buy as much as you can in the models you want. Chances are if you can stretch to 2 or 3 of a type you want then one will work for you. I've found 2 out of 6 that suit me to use as net bats, the rest are being sold. If it's a net bat then I don't think any of the decent bats will disappoint. Maybe the odd one will make it to match bat status or wet weather bat. The Slaz G3 and above's are great value, GM 404's are probably the best of the bleached brigade in terms of consistency, Kook seems hit and miss, some decent GN's if you get past the tape.

Scuff sheet off, remove residue, light sand all over and oil.

Such a shame removing the scuff. GM scuffs are so nice!
