I wouldn't take someone who's paid £750 for a cricket bat seriously mind!

This is an RRP (Recommended Retail Price) you have to gain some understanding of the cricket market that is different to many other sports markets in that even brand new products are expected to be discounted by the retailers once they hit the shelves.

Retailers will place their own prices upon the product which will make it more affordable. Kook are no different with the Pro Cadejo thats even higher at £780.

I don't think A normal club player would come across anyone who uses one unless you happen to play in the most affluent area of the Country

It's not just GN,most have these companies have off the scale expensive bats now.
The major manufacturers recoup pro sponsorship from general sale bats and equipment, they always have.

As I've said many times, there will always be trade for smaller bat makers in the UK

You could well argue the big boys are keeping the smaller companies going.its a different way of looking at it but may well be true,as prices go up cricketers look elsewhere for bats and kit.

I was under the impression that the legends were made at robertsbridge. Either way it's really expensive. Are all bats you get off the shelf at cricket stores all made in India? Or are the higher end ones UK made?

I think with GN the Legend is made in Robertsbridge, and all other GNs are made in India

Time to stock up on bats it seems

Smaller makers may follow suit as prices across the board gone up loads over last few years

In some ways I understand outsourcing saves money but Gray Nics are a British firm and should produce more than the most ridiculous priced ones in the UK.

To be fair, it keeps the smaller firms in business. I will continue to buy softs where I can try on but will go forth and order custom bats at more affordable prices

What a load of tosh.  I personally will probably spend £200 tops on a bat...the most I've spent to date is £160

I am almost certain that the legend was made in India because of the laser engraving could not be done hear
