Today is the day I’ve got the exciting news on the Newbery and IJC collaboration range for 2016. As Chris mentioned we’ve taken on a lot of things from the forum and introduced three new bats, whilst also refreshing the Platinum itself to ensure it remains “Luxury Redefined.”
The Platinum by NewberyThis will remain the flagship bat of the range, picked from SPS top grade Newbery willow. The shape and decals will remain the same as the distinctive and elegant models of this year.
The Changes Two-year warranty. The only Newbery bat of its kind. Newbery only offer a one year warranty, so during the second year IJC will be taking on our own warranty, providing the usual warranty services that the manufacturer provides.
Unique Payment Plan. The only big brand bat of its kind. We are allowing customers to pay for the bat in two stages, both of £160. Having had nightmares about cash flow as a business owner, we know how important it is. Payment of the first £160 either reserves a specific bat which is in current stock, or gets a custom Platinum bat built in your specs, i.e. long blade, mostly heartwood, shorter handle etc etc. The second payment is not due for up to 60 days after the first, so spreading out the Platinum payment makes it even more affordable to a lot of people! This hopefully makes the Platinum a little bit more wife and girlfriend friendly! (Please note, this applies to adult Platinum bats only.) EDIT -

Not only this, but we have brand new Newbery multi-texture grips coming on the latest batch! The Platinum will be the only bat of the Newbery collection available in the Platinum lounge also.
The Platinum will not go up in price, remaining at £319.99 for the 2016 season.
The Gold by Newbery
This is the first of three new bats we are introducing. Available in both senior and Harrow sizes, the Gold will be a Grade 1 bat, typically around the willow standard of the Newbery Players bats. The shape will remain the same as on the Platinum, and the decals will be the same, except the base colour will move from Platinum to a golden hue. Price will be between £240-£250 for The Gold.
The Silver by Newbery Again, available in Harrow and senior sizes, the Silver will be similar to the Newbery 5* bats. Retailing at around £180-£190, this should make the IJC and Newbery partnership available to almost everyone. As you can probably guess, the decals will be the same, just with a silver base instead of a Platinum one.
The Bronze by Newbery This is going to be a Junior exclusive bat. Available only in sizes 6 and Harrow, this will be similar to the new Daredevil grade. Retailing at well under £100, this should truly bring the Platinum into the hands of discerning juniors around the country!
So, guys, as you can see we’ve been busy over the last few weeks thrashing out all the details with Newbery, and are excited to announce them now. We are due to visit next week to handpick all the new bats (and some Merlins), so we are still taking pre-orders on all of the above bats!
