Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted something, so here goes! Got this beaut from Jake a while back, when I was contemplating going for a Pro Warbird. (This had originally been snapped up before I could get there) Turned out that the buyer didn't like the handle, and I snapped it up instead! I believe this was one of the first 3 available to the public, and Jake said it picked up the best of the 3, and felt like it performed
almost as well as the other 2. (G1 and Pro) I was more than willing to trade off a bit of performance if it meant the pick up was nicer!
It weighs in almost bang on 2.10 with the scuff, and picks up an absolute dream! Performance is fantastic, as you'd expect from H4L, and overall, it feels a better balanced bat than my NV, despite the NV having a higher middle. I think this one was a bit of an odd one, as the blade length is only just over a cm shorter, which doesn't feel too different at all from a regular SH blade. The finishing and stickers are fantastic, I really like how the embossing makes the stickers stand out just that little bit more, and the colourway is definitely my cup of tea! (I also really like the Hellfire colourway) The grains on this bat are predominantly straight and evenly spread, and although there aren't 10+, 7-11 all sapwood is normally the number and looks I like!
Anyways, enough from me, here are some pics!
As you can see, it's actually seen some use! So far, it has been promising, with what feels like a substantial playing area, coupled with a light pick up, which really helps when you really whip your hands through your shot. I've managed to find the middle a couple of times, with one pull shot putting a big grin on my face! I like the subtle duckbill, which is enough to enhance the pick up, but not so much that the toe feels too thin. Coupled with the thick shoulders, even wood distribution throughout the blade and slight counterbalance offered by the tip of the handle, the balance and pick up honestly are superb! (I know I mentioned it before, but it really is one of the biggest selling points of this particular model IMO) The handle shape itself is oval, and maybe a touch on the thinner side of medium, but it feels great in my hands! (Prefer a slightly thinner handle)
Big thanks to Jake, who, as always, was bombarded with many questions from me and answered them swiftly! Would recommend Vitas to anyone looking to make a purchase, Jake is always happy to answer questions and let you make up your own mind!
