I went to matts workshop today to get my custom bat made. Matt has a serious eye for detail and has a fantastic setup, it was a real pleasure to spend a few hours with him making my new bat Matt gave me some lovely willow to choose from and went for a very nice cleft which Matt went to work on checking what I wanted and kept checking till I was happy. The bat picks up so well and has a lovely sound off the mallet thanks again Matt for making me such a lovely bat

No cam Matt is copying the scatt for me after xmas this was my design and will be my match bat it's a big bat for the weight picks up is superb

Something about going to workshops i love no matter how many you go to would love to come down and see how Matt does it would love it maybe arrange a weekend of it as it bloody a long way, craftsmanship at it best.

whereas some of us wonder we actually accomplished in a days work!

His setup is very good indeed has all the tools of the trade and takes real pride in his work it was great watching him work and shows what a special talent for willow he has

Stunning looking bat - the profile looks superb and the way those grains go through the toe perfectly shows the kind of quality Matt is offering!
Together with those gorgeous stickers, the stunning grains, the beautiful profile, and not forgetting the awesome performance that Matt always seems to get from how he presses his home-grown clefts, add to this the great finishing and this is just about as good as it gets!
I always rate Salix as producing fantastic cricket bats and equipment out of their Kent workshop! Now looks as though H4L has just made Kent twice as interesting and inviting!!!

Being honest Simon, that's the first bat I've seen to rival the misbah

That to me is a true grade one bat, the best of everything in one bat.
Next years match bat for you without a doubt, bet you can't wait to get out there and use it

It's based on one of my old bats but wanted to have more down low and the spine running into the toe and left the rest to Matt who created this beast

Sure is mate it's so well balanced and it has a thick toe with the spine running into it so it should suit me down to the ground mate just need to go and use it now
