Masuri Elite Titanium & Stem Guard
« on: December 04, 2015, 09:21:16 PM »

Evening all

Time to start reviewing all the goodies I received from @Vitas Cricket  today.
Firstly another big thanks to Jake who provides an excellent service without fail.

Now onto the items I pre-ordered back in May as soon as they became available. A stem guard.
This obviously isn't any good without a helmet to fit it to, so I ordered a green Elite Titanium to go with it.

First impression
I couldn't help notice that I t's heavy. The dead weight is more than any other helmet I've ever used.
Other than that, the yellow clips on the ear pads are an improvement over the first version of these lids and the stem guard itself is well incorporated.

Looks
It's rather good looking in my opinion. I know these helmets got a bad reaction when they were first released, but the look has grown on me since they became the norm, and it "looks safe" with the reasonably thick she'll and the halo reinforced peak.
The stem guard may clip on, but it does' look like an after thought. It's been well designed and looks like it's meant to be there.

Feel
When it's on it does not feel heavy. In fact it feels like any other well fitting helmet - comfortable, but you know it's there.
The double bar doesn't get in the way. You really can only see one bar in your eye line (if you put it on right).
The stem guard is not intrusive, you hardly notice it in all honesty. However I was aware of it's presence. I like this though, it feels reassuring. The best I can compare it to is having an old car with squeaky brakes - you know it's there, it's not doing any harm but you know it's doing it's job.

Pictures
Please forgive me the atrocious helmet selfies!
