Masuri Size Adjustment
« on: December 07, 2015, 10:18:00 AM »

I recently bought a VS Elite in the Standard size (58-61cm). Before buying I double checked and my size was 59 or 60 cm every time I measured so I was right in the middle.

Now, when I put the helmet on I have to adjust the clip at the back to be out of the helmet and as far back as it will go and it still feels ridiculously tight. When I remove the sweat band from the front I can have that clip adjusted to be well inside the lid and the helmet really moves around on my head so I'm sure I have the right size.

Does anyone know what thickness the sweat band (swopaband?) is as standard? I read on here somewhere that you can buy different thicknesses, but is there a smaller size than the standard one? I put my Albion adjuster pads in (4 or 8mm I think) and the fit was fine, but with the normal band in it's far too tight.

The replacement padding is only thicker than standard currently I believe

In case anyone else has issues, I managed to find out the details.

The Masuri helmet uses the 12mm headband as standard (kindly figured out by the Aswani Cricket eBay account), so I've bought the 8mm band and problem solved. Amazing how much difference 4mm can make!

I had exactly the same issue, but have returned mine for a large mens. It should arrive soon and I hope that it's ok now :(

Where can you get that from?

If you mean pre-Vision Series models then yes, these are different. They are more padded than the older style ones. Maybe try the Shrey ones? They should fit the older Masuris, but I'd get it clarified before you buy!

Fair enough, if that's what Masuri say. From having the old style Masuri and the new VS one, they seem to be different - mainly thicker and a more comfortable material.
