Asics 2016
« on: December 08, 2015, 04:52:30 AM »

Asics 2016 shoes have appeared, and there's two new ones! Or updated models anyway, the Gel Gully 5 and 220no. Seems like they're getting more specialist rather than doing all-rounders' shoes so much any more (irritatingly for me), the 220no looks like a sturdy fast bowlers' boot and the Gully 5 aimed at batsmen. On the other hand, the Gullys are dead sexy... Decisions to be made before the season comes around!

The 220 is a colour update on the 210, along with some tech improvements, including making it lighter. It's very much an all rounders shoe

Ah right, looks a fair bit bullier than the 210s in the limited photos available. Glad to be corrected, thanks Jake!

What is the range in the uk ? I had a search on the website but they don't list cricket anymore.

The ones above look tasty.

My two yr old asics have been the best things I've ever worn for cricket.

As much as I am a big fan of the new Asics shoes - especially the gel gully 5's - they used to be the entry level shoe at around £50 - this latest model is £90 or there abouts...  hurumph. puts grumpy face on. I am going to need a new job to pay for all this lovely new kit!

I've got the original Gel Advance's and they are still going strong. Since I've had them, I wouldn't think about any other cricket shoe.  However, as mentioned the prices are getting way too much for someone who only plays a handful of games a year (perhaps thats why they have lasted so long !).  If / when I need a new pair, I am waiting for the sales !
