2 broken bats = homemade laminate
« on: January 07, 2016, 09:42:53 PM »

My old salix 'the edge' had delaminate and I couldn't get into the void to glue it. An old Easton maximus had a terminal crack through the shoulder.
As an experiment I used the band saw to cut the faces off of both. I then glued the eastons face onto the salix's back. Tapping up it has worked!!!
First thing the missus said was "at least you don't have to buy another new bat now". Some women know nothing.

I'll take it into work tomorrow and get it sanded up and stickers made. Going to use a variation on the Star Wars theme I used on another bat. Will post the photos tomorrow assuming I get it finished.

Nice work there! Wonder if the laminate could have been a bit thinner, perhaps save that for round 2  :D

Completed at last.

Makes a nice twin to my other Star Wars inspired bat. All feedback gratefully received.

Looks like a sledging magnet to me! 10/10 for effort.

It's performs pretty well, particularly low down. However, it will never be used in anger as I have better bats. It was more of an experiment which was fairly successful.

You're probably right but I'm bald and fat so I have thick skin.

If you're worried that your bat (or any of your other kit, for that matter) will attract sledging you need to man up haha
