Its more about going to a shop and picking out a good grade 2 bat. If you want G2 bats from big brand that look good and perform well I suggest contacting @Vitas Cricket or @ItsJustCricket or @Uzi Sports they all hand pick bats and are known for good service. I have never dealt with @VKS but they seem to be right up there too with the rest of them.

If you want one of the forum brands I am sure most will let you pick out a cleft so you can control the looks part, although when they start making bats sometimes imperfections become more visible. For performance you will have to rely on the batmakers experience.

Out of your above options i'll say go for SS Heritage.
If you want to go with CBF sponsors then there are many options. You can always ask for bat pics or willow pics from bat makers and decide.

My B3 mullanator is the best bat I've used. Absolutely awesome performance. I've heard good things about h4l too though never tried one.

Over the years seen some absolutely phenomenal bats that aren't grade 1s.

I'm surprised only Indian bats here are an option?

In our experience English made G2 bats are far and away the best. That may be H4L, Salix, HitsHard, Chase etc.

A good example is Chad's recent Hattori G2. How that's not a G1 is beyond me!

Bit of a poor survey choice to be honest!
Why are H4L, B3, Salix, Chase, plus countless others not on the survey list?
SS Ton are ok - had a few and the G2 I had was decent! Love BAS bats and any I have had have been guns!
But got a Grade 2 H4L (DVL actually) and first impressions are that it goes as well as some of my absolute G1 pingers!!
But I am sure that there are other brands that are super too.

Just guessing from the first post - either OP is in India or very fascinated with Indian brands

In case OP is in India its quite possible to go check the stock in person SS Heritage is a winner for me.  (Personally BAS is better - not overly soft like SS so last longer. But BAS are not readily available in all places (Not as "omnipresent" as SS) - Also SS perform straight away so most people love them- validates the purchase straight away, good value for money feel).

These would be "G1++++ players LE LEGEND GOLD PLATINUM " $1200 AU+ with Gray nicolls (Sorry but I usually see the worst grains with Gray Nics higher range so need to single them out - I am in Australia for reference. Kookaburra, on the other hand, have a mixed range. Just comparing the 2 biggest Aussie giants in cricket bats  ;) )

Don't know why people are slating the choices. Maybe the OP has shortlisted some bats based on his budget and is asking for opinions.

If that was the case a bit more information in the opening post may have been a good idea, the question was:
Best grade 2 willow going around which is as good as grade 1.
Please feel free to mention any other.
Many thanks.

People are only giving their opinions, which is exactly what was asked for!
