Gone through the back both sides. It's a team mates bat that he loves and sadly happened today. Long blade NV

Generally you can get this semi-repaired. This will still ultimately be terminal (glueing and clamping will only delay the inevitable), and depending on how quickly this happened, may be covered under warranty.

Two ways of doing it. Either open it up, glue it, clamp it. Or open glue clamp and drill a hole right through the bats edge all the way through. Brush a wooden peg with glue and insert so that the fits snugly. I've found this to work.

I would strongly suggest getting hold of a syringe and needle you can inject the glue all the way into the crack.

Like most bat damage it' can be repaired  doing as already suggested  but it won't be the same amongst other things when a bat breaks in that area  and repaired there's a loss of power to the blade.

From the advice here and locally most think it's a goner. I'm going to try gluing and dowelling it myself and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

Now when the repair fails what about turning it into a T20 slogger? It is a long blade and would need about 10cm cut off the top with an extra long handle, would this be possible?

It can be done but think about the vee in the blade will it have to be cut  and can it  take an handle being knocked in  how strong will it be personally think its only worth doing as a DIY project.

I'd suggest sending that away rather than doing a DIY repair.
I'd imagine cutting the handle out, repairing the damage and then fitting a new handle would be the best way of fixing this.

Ouch! That hurts when it happens.

If you don't mind me asking, when was the bat last oiled? It looks very dry.

Probably oiled last season but I don't think any amount of oil would have stopped it from doing this.

Update, I've glued each side by opening up the cracks and in absence of a syringe have used a straw to blow PVA deep into the cracks flooding them them clamping and leaving for 24hrs. I only did one side at a time. Tonight I drilled and inserted dowels, on 8mm and one 10mm, will leave them to set for another day before cleaning the bat up. I will finish off by binding the top of the blade with fibre tape and re gluing the labels on. The free hand drilling went well on the lower hole, came out slightly off centre on the other just breaking through the back of the bat.

Although illegal what are people's thoughts on putting a screw in each side at the top of the splice?

Below shows the the bat and dowels, the clamp is just holding in a small chunk of  re glued wood that popped out when I pushed the dowel through.

I'm still expecting this to explode after the first shot in anger.
