Salman Butt scores 100 on return
« on: January 10, 2016, 01:02:55 PM »

Butt smashed 135 off 143 balls on his return to Pakistani domestic cricket in their limited overs competition. With their flimsy batting order it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that he gets a recall to the national side...

Isnt Butt permanently barred from entry into the UK due to his deportation? That should presumably put a decent dent in any potential career.

You got to feel for Pakistan cricket, they are trying to clean up and then get these two cheats plus yasir  failing a drugs test.one step forward and two steps backwards

What really grates with butt and Asif is they continued to deny any wrong doing until every single appeal had been exhausted years later
I reckon the PCC wished the ICC banned them for 10 years not 5 and therefore their careers would def be over and it would be a non issue.

Butt won't be coming back...was never the best bat in Pak.

Asif on the other hand could cause headaches for the selectors - he was McGrath in the making, and if he starts showing form, it will create some serious debate.

Totally agree that bans should be longer from the off, which should provide a greater deterrent.

Whether they deserve to be back or not is a separate issue. They were found guilty and have served their time, both through incarceration and their livelihoods. As Michael Johnson constantly says in athletics, if you don't like them returning, look at the punishment...

Looks like he hasn't done much bat shopping with his time off, still using his old Adidas Incurza for his 100.

I heard he had a bet on top scorer for the match.

So Misbah wants him back for the tour of England! What an embarrassment if that happens:

You have a good sense and it is well within realm of possibility now. But PCB should not allow him to return to the international cricket. This is the price you pay for not listening to Afridi's warnings about bad influences around team players.

This is a test for Pakistan cricket and I hope they don't allow Butt and Asif back in the team. Rebuild but rebuild with new talent, not these tainted players.

I'm reliably informed today by my friend who is both a massive Pakistan fan and a lawyer that the only player who can tour this summer out of the three is Amir. The other two would not get a uk visa under the law soon enough to tour.
