CBF - Before and after
« on: January 11, 2016, 09:37:59 PM »

So given 2 new recent forum purchases have arrived inside a week of one another it got me thinking about how CBF really has given me a habit

2 seasons ago i started playing again after a 7/8 year gap. This was literally my entire willow count at that time.

On the left is a Slaz v1200 that was at least 12 years old, on the right is a kashmir willow puma off eBay. Well the slaz did a good job of getting me back into he game. Actually still plenty of life left in it but i have always been a sucker for kit and the hunt for a new stick begun.

Googling local bat makers not only made me stumble upon CBF it took me to James at Fusion and i purchased the following:

nice stick but it didn't prove lucky, going on the adage that it must be the bat causing the issue I went on a purchasing quest fuelled by daily forum visits.

This is my current collection.

The latest one to arrive is the GM, its only a 404 (women size) as to be expected a little hard pressed but its certainly one that will get some use. Looking on line i never really warmed to the GM branding but i have to say i think they look pretty good in the flesh.

And no... the dog is definitely not dead, just lazy!

It one of Johns usual excellent value X3 grades. Based on the Sirius shape but i had it made with about 3/4 off the handle and a 1/4 off the blade so SSH really. Its actually not pretty but the little i did bat last year this was the stick of choice most of the time.

from when it was new:

Face has actually sustained quite a lot of damage last year, all glued up and repaired by my good self and ready to bat on.

They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!
