Issue with a retailer
« on: January 14, 2016, 04:39:42 PM »

Hmm something doesn't feel right, ordered a pair of Horizon Test sock after reading some reviews on here, from a cricket retailer in Leeds. Not sure whether to mention who on here just yet. Straightforward order you might think, socks arrived Saturday, wrong ones, sent the county version which may be good but cheaper, not what I paid for... So returns note filled in packed and posted back same day before Saturday lunchtime proof of delivery. E mail sent Tuesday asking if they had received - no reply, email sent yesterday- no reply. Rang today on the listed number. Recorded message- " if your enquiry is regarding team wear, send an e mail and we will get back to you within 24 hours, otherwise dial xxxx. Dialled xxx " this number is not taking calls" alarm bells stated to ring. Links to the parent company don't work, got through on another number, said their website was down, fair enough. Asked my name twice, asked for the order number says he remembered them coming back. " Oh we haven't got any of the test ones in" nice of them to let me know...didn't fill me with any confidence AT ALL! God knows when I'll get the socks but I suppose I've got a bit of time before the season starts, April...hmmm let's see...Customer service...you get what you pay for obviously

This wouldn't be a shop based at Headingley by any chance would it? ;)

Sorry to hear about your issues mate, but sadly they do have quite a track record for this kind of thing. Even I'm surprised they sent the wrong item when they realised the other was out of stock though!!! Was there no partial refund or anything??

It very well could be mate! Nothing in the packaging, just the "wrong" socks. No mention of any refund even though the returns note said they would refund return postage if you send it back with the goods. How the hell do you do that at the post office when you've packed it! Compare this with a few bits ordered from IJC...Poles apart

What also surprised me was the recorded message about team kit enquiries, 24 hour turnaround for replies. If that was my name over the door I would be all over the enquiry like a cheap suit. I know it's winter but recorded messages during business hours??

Their customer service is notorious, and I'm sure you can guess whether it's a positive or negative reputation...

I've heard a couple of horror stories about them.  You are protected by consumer rights. Get your money back and take your custom elsewhere.

Normally find a stroppy public twitter message gets the wheels turning. Nobody likes to be shown up in public.

So the sock saga continues, after several and I mean several emails, ( you can't get hold of anybody on the phone) I finally get a reply saying they had ran out of test socks and that they were on order. After another couple of weeks I get another mail they would sent the following week, they arrive today and guess what....wrong! Wrong size! I'm a size 8 and they do these in 6-9 and 9 to 12. After pointing this out, they come back to me and said that Horizon only make them in one size!!!! Wrong! Being crap at your job is one thing lying is another. So they offered me the county socks that were originally sent! I think from Jan4th they've had long enough. Refund requested. Discount Cricket Outlet- avoid like the plague!

I agree
Brought some keeping pads and gloves from them, heard nothing for a month
So started emailing them, got nothing.
As they said on the confirmation email they were actually all rounder I phoned them
Only to be told the gloves they didn't have in the right size and weren't restocking
Took about 3 weeks just to get the gloves refunded and the pads sent out!
Coincidentally I made my order on the 3rd Jan!

I'm expecting a scrap for the refund but if they think they will get away with it they are messing with the wrong hombre. Yes I believe they are a offshoot of all rounder . Taught me a very valuable lesson, chasing around for a odd quid or 2 off here and there just isn't worth it, deal with people you trust

All rounder! Haha says it all.

Thee probably too busy trying to tell ijc they no nothing about cricket on YouTube to bother worrying about there own customers.

How on earth they made enough money to open I second store I'll never know.
