Changing kit.
« on: January 15, 2016, 05:31:11 PM »

Question for everyone

I'm thinking just how good and how much business new balance will do right now, giving what's happening around the glad th there brand,

But my Question is has anyone changed kit ie bats pads gloves and found a dip in form due to this.
I'm thinking going back a while Alec Stewart leaving kookaburra for slazenger. Scored loads with a bubble and was class
Moved to slazenger and didn't do a lot for what seemed ages.
Ian bell slaz to adidas then to kookaburra and now woodworm.

And going the other way
ROOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT. This lad could score runs with my spare kitchen door he's that good

Compton moved and hasn't scored any.

Most famous was hussey moving kookaburra ranges mid ashes and not scoring any runs.

Steve smith. Slazenger to new balance.

Went from being a joke in the test arena to the best batsmen in all formats currently.

New balance are that good!

Last year I had my worst ever season and I was using different kit every game, so although I still have a few bats by the time the outdoor nets an pd season come about it will be a 1 bat season for all my league cricket with another for T20.

Interesting that Alec Stewart has been mentioned.  For a man who had to have his studs just the right length, I would have thought changing kit would have been quite a big issue and taken a lot of time to get used to.

Even more so given he changed from Kookaburra back to Slazenger in the middle of an Ashes tour...

Michael Clarke - breaks free of his Slazenger contract and then (with a stickerless Slazenger bat) goes and scores a triple.  Not a change of equipment but psychologically it clearly did him some good!  The scores several double tons with his new Spartan gear...
