H4L Pads and Gloves
« on: January 17, 2016, 04:21:24 PM »

Contemplating some new pads and gloves for the 2016 season and noticed the NV range are reasonably priced (on sale) on the H4L website.

http://www.h4l.co.uk/collections/batting-protection/products/nv-batting-pads?variant=1233373633 - £50
http://www.h4l.co.uk/products/nv-classic-batting-gloves?variant=6688248321 - £27.50

Anybody used H4L pads/gloves before and kind enough to share their experiences?

Any other suggestions for pads/gloves for a similar price?

Thanks.

I used these softs last season (and probably will this season) they are excellent, some of the best I've used, pads are top notch as are both models of gloves, I prefer the split finger ones but I have the sausages too and they're also great, a steal at that price too!

Yeah, I've changed to them this year, being northern and extremely tight, I went with last years bargain offerings from Matt.
The pro range.
The new custom range is stunning, and I would say as good if not better than anything out there.
These need to be seen to be appreciated, I would be scared to get them dirty!
I will definitely get some next year

I've used all sorts over the years, gray nicks, slazenger etc, last two seasons I've used affinity, which were excellent and the back end of last season ss ones, as the pittards went on the affinity gloves.
The h4l pro ones, feel as good as the affinity softs
Can't comment too much on protection as I try to use the bat more than my gloves and pads, but the h4l pads have all the bells and whistles regarding padding and cups etc as do the gloves

Only thing I'd say is try and have a look at some and try them on.
I'm incredibly picky with the feel of gloves, and for the way the h4l ones feel and play, I can't recommend them highly enough

Def with you on that!
Si was modelling the H4L Custom pads and gloves and they looked fantastic. Tried on his gloves and they felt great - with the exception of being a little sweaty!! Really need to try them on BEFORE Si has his net next time!!  :(

Pete, you need to put a little vid of that warbird pro of yours, I'd have taken that home no bother, and it's a good three ounce heavier than what I normally use.

Well you lot are a nightmare for my kit addiction!  :-[
Drawing my attention to the softs on sale prices, I'm suddenly very tempted by the NV pads and NV Classic batting gloves...

Wait, even with the sale priced I'd be spending £105 on a pair of pads and 2 pairs of gloves...
I predict a mass sale of my gear coming up so I can fund myself a new stash of H4L goodness!  :D

I am blaming the forum for this craving! (well, mainly @simonmay5, @Northern monkey & @petehosk actually, keep seeing the quality of your kit up close doesn't help)

So the general consensus is they're worth the money?

Problem is, I hadn't noticed the gloves were sausage fingers, and I'm not a fan. From what's been said though, it might be worth shelling out for slightly more expensive gloves, to get the split fingers.

£27.50 for NV Classic (Sausage fingers)
£32.50 for NV Pro (Split fingers) Scrap that, they're only available in left handed  :-[

£80 for customs it it then, may as well get this years pads too if you're getting this years gloves! ;)

They're reasonably flexible for sausages to be fair. I'm presuming you mean last seasons classic gloves?
