Today was a day of epic proportions for the cricketing world, as
@simonmay5,
@Northern monkey,
@petehosk & myself made the trip to Eversely cricket centre.
It is a well hidden little place, with all of us managing to drive past the centre on our first attempt, and ended up in a delightful quarry that was definitely not suitable for cricket!
Once we found the facility it was a good set up, with 4 lanes and 2 bowling machines, yet nothing to stand on when feeding the machine (more on that later!)
Simon is a technically correct batsman who opens for his side. He bought enough quality willow with him that he could have stocked his own shop!
Here are a couple of pictures of him in action

Next up was Mr Monkey himself. Northern gives the ball a good wack and it comes back hard and fast!
I didn't get any pictures of him in action, as I was either feeding the machine or ducking for cover.
And next up to provide a batting masterclass was Mr Hosk.
Pete is very tall, has good reach and drives the ball powerfully.
He doesn't try to overhit the ball, but timing means the ball goes hard along the floor. A proper batsman if I ever saw one!

And last, and most definitely least was me.
There are no pictures of me that I am aware of, but I did nearly kill Simon with a straight drive!
As there was nothing to stand on to feed the bowling machine, we found a plastic chair. I had already hit one of the legs with a straight drive before I nailed one straight at Simon's head. He took evasive action, barely got out the way of the ball (I think it may have even ruffled his hair!) and the leg came off the chair he was stood on!
Just for good measure I also drove a ball back that snapped something off the extension lead that was powering the bowling machine.
We left after a good 2 hour session, leaving a trail of destruction behind us!
