SS Master 9000 Review
« on: January 22, 2016, 05:12:13 AM »

Had this bat for a while, but took pictures last night so thought I'd review it.

I was gifted this bat from a friend. Apparently it was destined for a Sri Lankan player, Kumar Sangakarra.

Weighs 2.9 and has a typical duck bill shape. Around 42 mm edges. Has a great balance and lovely rebound, however, it is quite soft as it is getting indented with minimal effort.

Will be using in indoors during the winter to prepare it for the season. Feel free to ask questions, was being lousy to write it thoroughly.

Here are the pictures..

I am starting to warm up to SS. Have not like their stickers but these look pretty nice. Beautiful bat mate and looks huge for the weight.

Looks like there's a bit of heartwood on the outside edge of a right-hander

Lovely bat Uzair - though I am skeptical, where is the badly spelled name in sharpie?

Ha, thank you!

Honestly, when I scrutinize intensely I see a text (just a letters, I see 'S') but it has been sanded off..

Last night I was netting with a Canadian national team captain who had gotten his new bat from SS which had unfinished toe with a name written with a sharpie 😱

It was single gripped, I added second grip.

That is a beautiful bat.

Regarding number of stars
3 star are grade2/3 like SS orange, Ton Gutsy
5 star are Grade 1 i think like Ton Slasher, SS ranger
Top Grade ones are 7 star like SS gladiator, SS maximus, Master 9000, TON reserve edition
i have not seen a 9 star SS/TON bat

SS guys do seem to get the best willow in large quantities
