H4L Hellfire - G1
« on: January 29, 2016, 08:38:18 AM »

Been wanting to buy one for a while, and after Santa Claus was extremely good to me this year - I decided to splurge and buy one from the guys @ItsJustCricket.

Great service from Paul, and it's nice to know that there's someone there to hand pick the bat to my specs rather than just pick a random one off the shelf!

Been itching to see what Paul had chosen and he sent me through a picture late last night:

Few wavy grains, but she's a beaut in my eyes.

I hope so! Had a bit of a mediocre season last year, so hoping a change in bat will change my fortunes a bit. Bad workmen blames his tools and all that...

Like I said, once you've bounced a ball on it, you'll be itching to get out and bat.
Just look at the blokes on here that have bought matts gear this year.
One thing he works on the most, is getting the best out of a cleft.
And his clefts are arguably the best available

Well it's here! And wow....what a bat! Thanks to Paul at @ItsJustCricket for picking it out for me and putting the finishing touches to it e.g. Oiled & Knocked In, Scuff Sheet, Toe Guard etc... Very smooth process with them from start to finish - can't recommend the guys there enough.

It arrived on Thursday and I've only just got round to taking some photos of it. I tried weighing it on the scales but I'm sure what I'm seeing can't be right - it says it weighs 1200g, which seems to equate to 2lb 6oz! Never been good at weighing bats mind you! What I will say is that it picks up like a dream - a lot lighter than my current bat.

Really can't wait to get out there and give it a go - don't want to risk it during our last indoor match tomorrow or nets next week, so it may have to wait until our first match in late April!

Anyway... here it is:

1200g is around 2lb 10.3oz to 2lb 10.4oz I think! :)

Ah...maths isn't a strong point either it seems! 2lb 10oz is what I was expecting!  :D

No excuses now! Top tools in your kitbag!
Lovely bat there. You think the pickup is nice? Wait until you start netting with it and time a few drives!!  :o

There are a lot of nice ones about - just seen a couple @uzisports in G2 that were very nice for the grade.

Lovely bat - hope it goes well for you.

Glad you like it - I'll pass on the kind words to Paul.

Enjoy, plenty of runs there for sure!

It's the first time I've gone for a bat that wasn't one of the bigger brands - so I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs. After the reviews on here of various other H4L bats, I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Bit of a new experience having someone purposefully choose a bat based on my requirements too. Very cool.

Give it a couple of years and I'm sure I'll be sampling some of the B3 custom shaped bats as well. Don't think I'm clever enough to know what shape is best for me just yet!

Just a quick check in after my first couple of matches and.....wow!

Only had 2 innings so far - one a 64* in a 45 over game, and then a 70* in a 20/20. Needless to say I'm pretty happy with how it's going at the minute!

Toe is a bit 'woody' but I'm not going to complain too much when the middle on it is like an absolute gun! Picks up like a dream.
