Half grip is my preferred choice. But in some bats the handle sizing is a little weird and it doesn't work out. So for the odd ones, i wrap around the self amalgamating tape for the area where i grip my bottom hand. Leave the top hand as such and my perfect position is achieved !

I like the feel and handle definitely feels stiffer. This is now with @i12breakfree so we can get an unbiased opinion

I'll have to wait for nets to comment on that. Just tapping the ball doesn't tell much. The RPC is nice @tushar Sehgal.

I bought a roll of 3M hammer grip and tried that. It's worked very well but I can't for the life of me find a link anywhere.

Finally used the bat yesterday in nets (i wish i could go out and play more cricket)
The bat pings well...i was using RPC and a custom made H4L
couple of teammates also tried the RPC and they liked it
bat has nice balance and the handle feels slightly different and stiffer as you said
My goal was to play straight yesterday and i have made slight change in grip after watching ABD video

I have been using my slasher's handle to experiment. I removed the binding, glued .7 mm thin strips of tightly wrapped eva foam around the handle with polyurethane glue and binded over the top as tight as possible with thicker 12 ply twine. Wrapped the binding with paint protection film.

My anti shock thicker handle.  It does it's job. Little too well. It will come off soon. Lol



Serious question on handle construction:

Who knows whether cork or rubber inserts are better that the other? What is the difference in feel, longevity etc. I noticed a CA with 5 rubber inserts recently.

You are correct mate! I have noted that many Pakistani bats have extra strips of rubber/cork for more flex. It is a myth that a stiffer handle creates more power since the contact time of the ball and bat isn't too long (typically 0.001 sec) and it isn't enough for the vibration wave to travel back and forth. The one thing it affects is how it feels in your hand. If you have more flexible handle, the feeling that you get is of middling the ball well and hence more flex helps. the handle should be rigid enough that the bat doesn't flex when you are swinging it in the air but if it flexes on impact, it doesn't matter. if you are a science geek line me, read this article and you will understand what I mean:
