The CBF effect
« on: February 02, 2016, 05:22:35 PM »

Before now I've only ever had 1 bat at a time, kind of 2 as I always carried my dads old bat as a spare in my bag but never really used it.

But recently with the upcoming season I decided to get a new bat, unfortunately 1 new bat turned into as I couldn't decide on just one.

Here's my two new bats for upcoming season sandwiched between my old bats:

Now owning 4 bats, (though only really likely to be using the 2 new ones) I should have been content, however this forum also introduced the idea of buying bats off ebay. This definitely seems a dangerous habit with high potential of people like myself (all the gear no idea) buying stuff that probably isn't worth whats its been sold for. Never the less I went ahead and bought another new bat for what I felt was a cheap price.

So here are my two Kooks bought from Vitas with the amazing help of Jake and a GN I got off ebay.

Verve face

Ghost face

Nemesis face

So I'm pretty sure there will be no more bat purchases this year.. but who knows.

Lovely looking bats.

But you posted at the wrong time! Everyone's camped in the mankad thread and this won't get a look in.

Good bat variety. Nemesis seems like a walk on the wild side. Ghost is short blade and verve is a more refined profile with a light pickup. Like your old bats too. Give the edges and toes on the Kookas a good prep and oil as they tend to go soft and crack.

Yep the CBF effect is catchy and costly. That said hardly anyone rubbishes another player's choice and most of us go up and down in bat numbers. I went from 2 to 8 back to 2 and as of yesterday back to 4. Good thing is I will always find someone willing to pay what I payed or what I need to cover the next gottahave if i get bored.

Nice little collection there mate, but the longer you stay on here the higher the number gets  ;)

It's not just bats either, you'll soon find yourself with multiple bags, helmets and sets of softs too!  :D

All but the one on the very left (old CA KP), acquired within the last 10 months!! A couple more hiding in my "storage" (i.e. my Kook pro players duffle, that was perfectly fine, but had to replace with the GN Supernova).

AND...now I'm out looking for a Flare. Madness.

Kooks look good for the grade. I am trapped now but if you want to save your savings logoff now and never turn back.

I was worried this might happen... Already have 2, got a B3 50% ordered and looking at the SS Master 9000... I only play about 10-15 games a year.  :/

You could use a new bat every game and have a few left over to net with!

Has anyone loved a (potential) new bat so much that they want TWO of them,  just in case one breaks?

I am driving myself insane I think

I ended up with two Kookaburra Kahunas for this reason.

Latest dumb rationalization : "willow is only getting more expensive - so buying a few extra now will save me some cash in the future"
