Spend anything from 50-400 quid on a bat.

I used to use them regardless, but have been going through 4bats a season.(when toe damage or severe edge damage appears I switch bats, tend to repair them but end up moving them on than put back into use)

So this year I've bought a few net bats, and hope my match bats last a tad longer.

My Helios has lasted me 4 years now and it's basically a Newbery GT. I used to net a lot and go on the bowling machine, but I find it hard to train much with work/uni/football. Spent AUD$280 on it when the conversion rate was good. Got 8 of my 11 scores over 50/100 for my current club with the bat so hard to let it go.

My current net bat is an MRF which is 10 years old. I used it in matches until last season.

My SS LE only lasted two years before a chunk of the toe broke.

Most  quality bats are good for 1000 plus runs tend  to use mine for one season  then buy another as bats are the only thing i treat myself to also would take me a around 3  seasons to score that many  never use a match at nets to much of a damage risk  prefer a bat that pings after preparation

My last bat is also the first one I ever got, it's still going strong after 7 years but only comes out during bad weather nowadays as it's definitely on the downward slope performance wise. I used to use it for both nets and matches. No idea how many runs I scored with it as I can't remember all the way back to when I was 15.

I think most bats are good for 2000-3000 runs depending on whether it gets beaten up by cheap balls.
Using a net bat can prolong the main bat.

I typically spend around £150ish on a bat but I don't usually get a g1 bat. I am very lucky that @Canners picks lovely bats for me, but my bat will be in its third season this coming season.

For the average user on here a bat costs about £100, for a g1++++ bat which is amazing for the knocking in period but rubbish after the second innings with a combined score of about 60 runs....

You guys are thinking about this all the wrong way. Who cares about runs? You gotta answer the question in terms of CBF visits...so my bat lasts about 10 CBF visits, after which it suddenly becomes relegated from the "main bat" position.

Played less than 10 games last season and can probably count the runs scored without taking both socks off.

Still doesn't mean I don't "require" a new bat this year though. :)

Around 4000 runs before it is retired to Sunday cricket. The better you look after it the longer it lasts. I don't bother with g1 bats as in my view it is not worth it. I spend around £200 for a good g2.

Usually 3ish seasons for a main bat if I use it till it's dying, spend over the past few bats has probably been an average of £150. Normally the handle or toe that goes, I tend to glue the first decent break up and then change bats after the second one.

I've got a couple of old Asian of the shelf bats(SS and Malik). Both are around 8-10 years old and both have been used and abused. But both still go like rockets. The SS in particular is very battered the handle is shot to pieces but still got a fabulous middle.
