Level 2 Coaching
« on: February 05, 2016, 06:01:52 PM »

Hi All,
I am currently doing my Level 2 Coaching Course. And at short notice have been asked to prepare a 15 minute session for approx 7 people, the session will be on bowling- creating pressure at the start of the innings. It must be a variable practice. And i have to decide on the relevant core principle to develop during the session!

As a very inexperienced coach has anyone got any ideas for a session i could perform for tomorrow?

Thanks
James

Perhaps set a field by placing cones...then give the bowlers a target of no more than 3 runs per over.

Core principles could be patience, and bowling to your field?

As the bowler runs in, one of the ECB variable practices is to tell them what length to bowl as they run in. If you're talking about creating pressure then you'll want it mainly to be good and then throw in a full and short length here and there. Set out cones to measure length and give them points if they get it in the zone as a competition type thing. Demonstrate follow throughs and they can practice that in groups, bowling then following through towards the wickets. Hope that makes sense and helps.
