Looks great dave, nice stance, pickup and your bat comes through really nice.

Like others have mentioned, a bigger stride with front foot could help, as you rotate your body square and walk into the shot after contact. I think a bigger stride would give a more stable base, help you generate more power without your back leg coming into play.

Well done though, look a quality player 😃

The leg side there was a bit of walking onto them with the head and agree about the rotation the thing I was trying to do more than anything because I tend to whip it through mid wicket was hit straight and my main aim was to get head and hands through without the rear hip rotation so to play either mid on or if it swinging which it was set on 2 on the machine glance it down to fine leg from same position.

There was quite a bit of swing on them to try and make me fall over

James cheers pal things to work on pal

The straight slap in the first vid was a lovely shot, that's gonna go past any bowler twice as fast as he's bowled it.
To me that's what batting so about, it is a competition between batsman and bowler foremost
Picking length and shot selection are crucial, but it's all about scoring opportunities
No good looking good, if it doesn't go off the square, I'm sure you've seen plenty of batters like that.

I'm a big kp fan, purely because of how he can destroy good bowling, he's worked on his Strength shots, and not focused on his weaknesses
The newer England lads seem to try for a similar freedom, one days anyway.
The gilchrist masterclass is interesting too and gives a good insight into his shot making decisions

There's a good lesson there for us all not to stand still with our game, there's always areas to improve and learn.
Fair play to you boss,

And if you want any tips on clearing cow corner!ha I'm your man

I want to try and do is get technical issues at lower speed.

But to be honest for me batting is not about leg position it's about head leading not the leg.

Midway position is the curse of most club
Cricketers in my eye.

You can never stop learning

and then to tie in my bat to the session as i said dotball does bounce around 2in more than most grass surfaces so bat splatter mark as expected was at around

its how i get bats shapes this would suggest i need a higher middle but on grass it doesn't get as high as that normally.

Had a look at both vids excellent  reactions  and well balanced looks good off the back foot good shot selection apart from a pull to leg from outside off stump would lead with the head when driving and get the front foot out towards the ball otherwise okay

Looks good dave.

All to sensible for me, but then that's probably why you've been more successful than me.

What camera did you use?

And is that rip in dotball a floor?

Braver man than me, Dave, risking the iPad like that mate! I'm also not brave enough to have my technique picked apart on here, either  :D

Mate why not do it pal more should i have a very good coach who knows his beans so comments on here are taken but maybe not acted on.

I know my game but always looking to improve even in my late years playing.

Scoring runs is so much more than technical so so much more.

I watch this guy listen to what he said about foot and head he is very correct big foot movement is not required at all

First video 3:05 best shot, played straighter and didnt try to 'whip' the ball too much.

Coming from a bowler, you're a decent bat... Still fancy my slower ball yorkers and sweet chin music though ;) ill see if i can sort out some of videos of myself at nets soon!

cool challenge accepted maybe come up for to Sheffield for a net pal it a bouncy deck at Dotball as @smilley792 will testify I would say 60/40 for the bowler always up for a challenge pal.

Not worried about short stuff most can't do it right anyway and most certainly are not quick enough to do it either !!!

I saw the other day you like batting on the machine above 85 mph now chin music who do you play for pal you must be a top order batsman at a premier league club and with chin music I can honestly say I have faced some of the world quickest  in the leagues I have played in but fair play if your bowling 80 plus

Haven't watched the vids yet but having had a couple of nets with Dave I don't need to, to know that he is a very good bat. The wife is going out shortly so I'll watch them then
