Truely outstanding day, not sure what else could have happened for it to be a perfect day out. NZ under pressure early on then the counter attack. Stinking hot weather, a great run by the streaker, young lass rolling down the hill leaving not much to the imagination, curry and beer, home safely and the wife's still talking to me, just perfect!

Maybe the stats say BMac isn't an all-time great but you can't help but admire his approach both as a batsman and a captain. Also i stuggle to think of anyone, ever, who's chosen to retire when so near the peak of his game. Better that way than outstay your welcome.

Now that's 'brilliant' cricket... Not like jordan :)

Entertaining to the last

Far from brilliant... Spectacular yes.. Brilliant no....  Dropped twice.. Numerous top edges for 4's and 6's

Certainly entertaining though and NZ will miss him and his captaincy big time. As I will. He was a massive reason NZ are becoming a strength in test cricket again.

Take a bow fella. What a way to sign off. Test cricket will be poorer without him.

If Jimmy Pattinson wants a long successful Test career he might want to stop bowling no balls which would lead to wickets. Yesterday was the third time in the last 4/5 weeks. Didn't cost too much against the Windies. But Baz made him pay big time

Wagner proving what I suspected all along,  he's rubbish  when he can't bounce out Sri Lankans.  Bowled 3 overs for plenty.

It has taken me two hours to pick up that Mr. Burns and Smithers are at the crease and I feel ashamed.

Anyone at the ground? If so, kindly find your way to the commentary box and gag Ian Smith and Mark Richardson. Free bat will be your reward.

Sky having to apologise because Ian Smith describes what Cumming said as "a load of b*****ks"  :D.

Is my hearing failing me or did I just hear the commentator say "what a load of b***ocks?"

Another excellent innings by Queenslander Joe Burns. Third Test hundred and has now probably closed the door on Shaun Marsh for good.
