Those of my bats that don't make the cut, end up as my net bats. Just because I relegate some of my bats to net bat status doesn't mean they are not good bats. I have 3 bats sitting in my kitchen with some part of their toes super-glued to fix net damage. I am livid! I paid good money for these bats; had the bat makers knock them; I personally spent some time knocking the toe. And, here I am with three toe-damaged bats!!! WTF do I have to do to prevent toe damage?

Maybe, I should just stick to USD200 bats so the damage/breakage wouldn't sting so much.

What type of toe damage do they have? What balls do you use in nets?

Personally, my net bats are my match bats because that is the way I can play them in. I want the grains to split open!!

Simple. Stop trying to hit Yorkers for 4

Without knowing details I'd guess you need to use better quality balls and stop trying to smash Yorkers!

If your gonna dig out fast Yorkers or try to drive them, your toe is bound to go.

It's the weakest part of your bat anyway regardless.

Or do have some do ( including Me ) have  just 1bat for nets which is the same spec as your match bat.

These are hairline cracks. One has a feathered toe edge - I tend to flick Yorkers bowled to leg stumps off my feet. It is a regular shot I play and all my match bats some feathering to the inside. This crack is an ugly eye sore!

One bat's toe delaminated, a flake 1 cm in size, after I knocked it post oil-glue-sand routine.

I practice with whichever club has a practice going on so I can't really control the balls they use. This one was u sung SG balls and they did sound very hard.

With all the technology we have, why can't bat makers reinforce the toe better? As a consumer, I am asking the question of bat makers. There is clearly a market need for this.

Didn't slazenger try reinforcing the toe with a TAS insert?

Thought they were meant for the bat edges not toes.
