Play Cricket Noob!
« on: February 18, 2016, 11:41:10 AM »

Hi guys,

I know this is gonna be a daft question with a very simple explanation but here goes:

This season is the first season where Play Cricket is completely mandatory for all clubs in our league so finally our club is kicking and screaming it's way out of the dark ages and I've been tasked to do it! Everything seems pretty straight forward but what I can't work out is once someone has a Play Cricket account set up, how do they add themselves to our Club? Or do I have to add them being the admin?

Cheers lads
Matt

Hi Matt, the site is a bit clunky.
Once users are signed into their account they need to click on their name then "edit account" > memberships and roles > choose a site
From there you can search for the relevant club.
As site admin you should then get requests to join through from people.
Good luck

Appreciate that mate cheers! Presumably that's also the easiest way to get players who haven't got existing accounts involved too?

Think so. Get them to sign up to play first and then follow that procedure.

Spot on, that's how I'll go about it then. Thanks for your help!

Good Lord!! I thought this thread stated 'Play Cricket (No Swearing Please)'  as an exhortation to all non-believers yet to take up this noble game!

Haha, well it could mean that as well I suppose but I doubt a forum dedicated to said sport would be the most sensible platform for my overly aggressive agenda, preaching to the choir and all that  :D

How is (No Swearing Please) a (No Swearing Please) swear word, that's (No Swearing Please) that is - what a load of wank!!! It's merely a humourous use of the (No Swearing Please) word, not a (No Swearing Please) statement of (No Swearing Please)!!!

(my tongue is firmly in my cheek!!)

And how does wank get through and (No Swearing Please) doesn't?

Very inconsistent if you ask me :)

The most fun I've had all day is trying different combinations of swear words in this post so far my favourite is: How is (No Swearing Please) a (No Swearing Please) swear word, that's (No Swearing Please) that is - what a load of wank!!! Think our league rep made a word doc about it if you need me to send that to you later to send to the rest of your club?
