I have this problem and tried lenses but struggled badly to get them in so I've had to knock them on the head and just continue with glasses and prescription sunglasses!

I've a similar issue with glare in virtually all daylight conditions. My game improved once I starting wear contacts. Also  I wear sunglasses nearly all the time due to glare. Even when I'm batting I wear sunnies. I can't recommend oakleys enough for this especially with the ability to change lenses to improve contrast to remove glare. I do get a bit of unimaginative sledging batting in them from time to time, but I enjoy that

With regards to contact lens fitment, get the best optometrist you can.
I had two years of vitual blindness before being referred to a specialist in Manchester .
She teaches at the eye hospital in Manchester and even tho it costs for me to see her, it's worth it to get the best lens fitment possible.
I've recently been for a check up at oxford eye hospital and they can't believe how good the lens fitment is.
Which doesn't fill me with confidence for their abilities

Ive had 3 net sessions with glasses & have had to throw the helmet off, I was getting headaches. Any else had this??? Not sure if I need to alter the foam padding inside now Im wearing glasses.

Soz its a bit off thread.

I had similar, found it was the glasses pinching. I can only wear glasses with a straight arm, ie no hook at the end. I'm tempted to try contacts now though as I've had issues with misting, I'm wearing the adidas sport glasses which should prevent it but doesn't always.

Sounds like it's a common problem then!

Do you guys have certain areas which make you lose the ball? I've found on a certain length I'm unsure as to where abouts it is, and I've also noticed with movement (seam or swing), I suddenly lose where the ball was! Which made it awkward as I got pinned square on the chest last night after losing the ball completely.

I'm also thinking of getting it lasered?

Any advice appreciated still - seems we can all help each other on this!

Sounds similar to my experience, I wasn't picking the ball up off the quicks very well in the nets, thought it may be colour blindness and had to really concentrate to focus on slower bowling. After getting one on the grill I decided to get them checked out. The astigmatism wasn't diagnosed in my last eye tests 2 years ago so must have come on over the last year.

I had my eyes lasered 17yrs ago( when I was 26)
It was fantastic, and allowed me the freedom of not wearing contacts.

The problem is now I'm getting on a bit, my eyesight needs a slight correction in one eye, but due to the laser surgery, the surface of the eye has been slightly distorted, so contact lenses are no longer an option for me.

Having to bat in glasses is a bit of a pain, what with misting etc( any recommendations on anti mist sprays?), so if you were to thinking of going down the corrective surgery route, this may be something to consider

I've never had glasses before and it was perfect vision before Xmas, then a kind soul brought conjunctivitis into work and spread it all over - after that I had this crap and can't pick up the ball to save my life; I've gone back to my old club for now as it's a lot slower paced or doesn't do anything! But getting annoying - and apparently you've got to wait xyz months until you can have lasering.
Just wondering if this means I'm stuffed until I can have it lasered :( Not ideal!!

Anyone looked into the bates method for improving vision?
I've watched a few vids on you tube and I must say it makes a hell of a lot of sense

It has to be worth a try if it can restore or improve vision?

The near far exercise is really good, the second one here.

Just tried the sunning method
Incredible!
It's also eased my dodgy whiplashed neck!!!!

Why've I never come across this before?
I suppose the optometrist of the world did a pretty good job of hiding it?

I suppose the risk of retinal UV toxicity and cataracts have been deemed to outweigh the benefits that no research group has been able to replicate or verify.

The bits I've read, reckon it can reverse or cure cataracts?
Are you a specialist with possible knowledge on this?

As I've spent two days online looking at this and can find no negative comments anywhere?
