The best i had was when we were 60 for 8 (something like that) and i blocked out my first few overs they finally chirped up with 'we have a test match on here boys!' my response was a 4 straight down the ground off their opener.

Did you connect with any of them?  ;)

2 things.

1) Man up! Who cares of the keeper gives you chat? Either ignore him or chirp back...

2) I'm yet to come across a keeper who can tie their own shoes, let alone work out if someone else's have holesin! The most intellectual chirp I've heard was "you had him on the back foot there" after I pulled a 4 off their dobly 'seamer', and even his team mates weren't sure if he was being ironic...

Easy now!! Ive been able to tie my own shoes for at least 6 months now and ive completed a word search!!

Towards the end of last season I picked up the Adidas Adipower Vectors due to an achilles injury that wouldn't go away. I played 6 2XI premier league games, a few development games, a tour game as well as other Sunday friendlies and they felt amazing. I bowl left arm spin and they just locked my foot in place when landing giving me great stability and they felt really good when fielding on the boundary too. As for batting, I didn't bat too much towards the end of season but my few brief innings wearing these boots felt reasonably good but hopefully this season I will get more batting time in them and will be able to express my opinions on them for batting on a later date. The 2016 Vectors are unchanged from 2015 apart from the colour way so I would really recommend these boots as they are perfect for both seam and spin bowlers as well as batting from reports. If anyone has problems with foot, ankle or achilles injuries I would strongly recommend them. I've been using Adidas for my cricket boots for quite a while and they are improving every year, in fact I moved from the SL22 to the Vectors so they are definitely a big step up from previous boots I've worn.

I ask this as I'm mainly a wicket keeper, but Is there such thing as a fielding boot? Or do us keepers have to make do with a batting or bowling boot?

Anyone gone from Adidas Twenty2 yds low to Adidas Adipower Vector's, either the mid or normal version?

If so what are your thoughts?

Unfortunately I can't speak from experience as I'm a spinner but I've gone from the SL22 Fs2 to the Adipower Vectors normal version in case anyone was interested at all. From watching cricket on the TV I've noticed that both James Anderson and Stuart Broad used to wear the Twenty2 yds but since adidas changed their ranges they've both slightly changed their boots too. Anderson has been wearing the standard Adipower Vector but Broad is wearing the Vector mids, I also saw that Steven Finn tried the Vector mids before changing to asics. I think largely that the taller bowlers (e.g. Broad) have gone to the Vector mids and the slightly shorter bowlers (e.g. Anderson) have tended to go for the standard Vectors. There are some exceptions though as Tim Southee last time I saw him play was wearing the standard Vectors despite him being fairly tall and David Willey has been wearing the mid Vectors even though he's not particularly tall. I think its all personal preference in what the bowler feels more comfortable wearing as I assume the mid Vectors are more heavy due to more support. If the taller bowlers feel they can get away with the standards then I would guess that would be their choice due to them being lighter and therefore physically a little less demanding to wear during the day.

I've personally not come across a fielders specific boot however there are plenty of options that could be a possibility for a keeper. In my opinion Adidas offer the best hybrid boots in the SL22 which is a very good boot as it's very light and has a slim lined profile in my view. I would think they would be very good for keeping as I bowled several overs of left arm spin in mine as well as a fair amount of time battle in the middle batting especially at the beginning of last season where I batted nearer the top of the order and was out there for a while. Another Adidas option is the Adipower Vectors which I also have and will be using this coming season as well as our 2XI wicketkeeper who is a big fan of them. I'm not to knowledgable on the other major brand at the moment but I've heard a lot of good things about New Balance at the moment.

Another option which may interest you is getting a pair of running trainers spiked up for keeping as they will be very light and comfortable just with the added benefit of having spikes giving you more grip. I remember a few years ago Craig Kieswetter wore a pair of spiked up All Star Converse's when keeping. This may be an option but depending on the company that spike them and the particular trainers you use it could be quite expensive but I'm sure that someone on here will be able to sort you out a deal if thats the line you want to go down.

I've gone from 2014 SL22's to 2015 Vectors and I've got to say loved them both only thing is Vectors are better for bowling especially on the ankles. Next purchase though will be New Balance 40/50 they seem all round very good and I think they look good as well. Other thing I would mention SL22 discolour very quickly but that may be to do with me 😂

Can't say I've ever seen some but I have seen a few similar looking supposed Nike 2016 boots. Think Dwayne Bravo showcased them on a social feed.

Now that's tempting! @Ayrtek how do you think they'd do for seamers?
