Online coaching resources
« on: March 10, 2016, 04:16:32 PM »

Hi all,

After a while lurking in the background, time I popped my head up above the parapet.

I'm doing my level 2 coaching, and interested in finding good online coaching resources to add to the iCoachCricket stuff from the ECB. I'm sure a good list would also be of use to other forum users.

Does anyone have particularly good places they visit and would recommend? I've previously had a poke around Pitchvision, and another that comes up on Google is Sportplan.net, although this requires registration. Any further ideas welcome...

iCoach is a subscription only tool for ECB approved coaches and those in training. It consists of a load of video files, several Gigabytes worth, and almost all of it containing youth team players etc. Not only very copyright-able, but all manner of other potential legal problems if anyone was to make it public I would have thought.

Sigh, seriously mate I don't care that much.. It's not some font of all knowledge.. Ecb lvls aren't exactly renowned for producing decent coaches after all.. I was just saying before asking for everyone else's info maybe share some. After all, this forum is about sharing knowledge

Put it this way, a poxy crb check for youth teams isn't very cleared let me tell you..

Thanks. As a novice at this I'm a bit 'all at sea' here. I get the progressive development, core skills etc etc, but am lacking a bit in how to run an interesting session, with linked exercises that players might rotate through.

I dare say if I sat down I could work it all out, then with a bit of practice it'd come together. Unfortunately my assessment is in a month and I'm only just recovering from a fractured collar bone after I threw my motorbike down an icy road. I'm a bit behind where I'd like to be.

Thought I'd ask before I set about reinventing the wheel.

I did do an integrated lesson plan with drills for batting/bowling/fielding relevant to the opening overs. I'll post this perhaps, and see what people think.
