I have a bat that has several cracks in the toe. I had originally planned to give it a little bit of steam and then glue and sand the cracks. However, that was before I'd realised how deep and widespread the crack was. Taking off the scuff sheet, it appears as if it's literally one crack all the way through. Any advice on what I can do here ?

This doesn't seem too bad to be honest. I wouldn't bother steaming it though. Just glue and clamp/bind

Agree with @Gurujames, but the willow looks very dry, which may be why is 'denting' so badly.

After Glue and Clamp, I would wax the bat before using it again.

I don't understand what i would clamp. The toe is notoriously hard to clamp anyway. Paging @WalkingWicket37

Pack the cracks with wood glue. No point clamping there in my opinion.

On another note, have you heard of linseed oil or knocking in?/

I think its where you test out a new front door. You fit the new door, close it and knock on it multiple times to see if people can hear you from inside.....or at least that's what I think it means

I'm not sure. Nor is the lad at nets this morning who cracked his brand new G1 M&H after toeing a wide one. I think it cost half a million pounds and came with no warranty.
It sounded very hard pressed and he gave me a 'are you a (No Swearing Please)' look when I told him they are Indian made.

Bat was fully knocked in by Paul at IJC. Was waxed with Salix bat wax and had a scuff sheet on when it cracked. Not sure why it's so dry.

it could just be a 'dry' batch of clefts.

they dry out the bats more than ever now, which is why the bats are getting bigger with a light pickup...
