Really like the look of this helmet and all. That allures me to buy one, however, after getting one for a friend from Talent Cricket, I was put off. As @Vitas Cricket emphasized, the quality of helmet is not exceptional. I did not find the built quality to be on par with Masuri Elite (preceding years one). This looks brittle and cheaply built.

Dollars do tend to talk though ;)

To be fair, if I was an international player I'd be fairly confident in my ability to not wear the ball. With this in mind I'd happily wear a coulender with a grille duct taped to it if I was offered a few quid a game...

I had two of these. On the first one the plastic where the grill mounts to the helmet had cracked clean through from top to bottom without even being struck. I couldn't get a replacement from the original stockist so ordered one from another supplier and this one was much worse. Numerous cracks in the plastic mounts on both sides and even looked as though the plastic had been spot melted to repair some of the cracks. Returned it and went back to Masuri.

Such a shame as I really liked the fit and feel of the helmet but the build quality was poor on the two I had.

@procricket B3 you've got both which side have you fallen on? I've just ordered my Shrey from a local retailer I liked them so much, especially compared to the helmets Masuri are making which have presumably been designed with moto GP in mind as much as cricket! You'd have to pay me millions to wear one of those, horrible horrible helmet.

Also aren't there screws as well as the plastic

I'm sure I've seen screw heads on sheet helmets where the pros have taken the branding off

I have the version with the screws, it does not have the latest safety certification. How ever it does have a stiffer peak and the grill can not be set low, so there is no chance of a ball fitting through. The comfort and visibility are excellent, no issues with the build quality. Been using for over a year now and love it. I would consider getting the new fixed grill version but I am happy with the one I have at the minute.

No no I mean actual screws that need a screwdriver to undo, not the big plastic things on the side of most helmets

Exactly my point seems strange that the model that was before the newly updated version which has past all the latest safety tests, would be made from a lower grade of materials than its predecessor.

The Shrey helmets conform to the latest safety standards so they tick at the boxes in that respect, but when it comes to the overall finish and workmanship, then the Masuri are far superior and pretty much perfect.
