Hello everyone, and thank you all in advance for all the responses, much appreciated.

I want to buy a roll of clear premium anti scuff sheet (clear bat protective sheet) from where ever that sells it, ideally the manufacturer. I think the uk made one is the best. but if anyone sells it from anywhere else that will do, as long its the premium quality one. (One that sticks).

they are about £5-7 a sheet for about 13 inches (33 cm) long + ~£3 postage . So might be cheaper if i bought the full roll from somewhere.

Thanks all.

Plus just a quick thought, Newberry sell a hammer edge sheet that has fibre tape on it. Now which one will help the ball to rebound of the bat a but more.. this harder style or the clear sheet that eg salix use...

Now we don't have any scientific results to measure the 'coefficient of restitution' of the ball (how far a ball bounces) just by the anti scuff sheets (or do we?).  If we did or in theory which will be better and why?

My thinking is that the laminate bats and some of the skyer catches have a double layer of materials. The laminate bat will help as the two layers of wood will together give a better rebound (i think) as for the skier this certainly helps as it has rubber that helps impart more 'impulse' onto the ball. (basically this is a precise physics word for more force onto the ball hence more rebound.... ) now in theory should a harder antiscuff sheet  (like the newberry hammer edge) may work better then a softer one (like the ones salix or gn or gm us eon their bats), or the other way round? and why?

Im guessing the addition of them (either the harder or softer sheet) will be better then a naked bat? also any thoughts...

so in theory if i put like 10 of these sheets on, (one on top of each other like a big sandwich) which i won't, which will work best?

thanks!!!

thanks but fibre glass are the worst to get off, don't look nice, hide the bat and don't think aid in rebound as much as the others. iv thrown them in the bin in the past. don't even think they are worth giving away for free.

Guess the countless amount of pros that use them are doing something wrong then.

Scuffs are generally there to protect a bat. Not add performance. In fact there's lots of threads on here that suggest it's actually detrimental to performance. Even if a very small effect.

countless amount of pros who are using them are using them to be detrimental to performance. makes a lot of sense.

I have used the hammer edge, armourtech by kookaburra, the salix and the readers anti scuff. Last 2 seasons I have used the fibre tech by gray Nicolls and I personally think it's a lot better feel like the rebound is better and not a single mark underneath the face so far. If you have no interest in the fibre tech then use the armourtech or salix as I find the hammer edge cracks up quite a bit and the readers you may as well have no face on the bat.

From us it is £5.50 including postage for a whole metre of the best quality stuff as used by a number of big brands.

A whole 50 metre roll would be £210 inc postage.

How's 95p per sheet delivered? http://cricmart.in/antiscuff-sheet-1st-grade/

May as well put a quid in the bin, by comparison the quality is nowhere near as good.

I've got one of them

Not put it on a bat yet, but happy to do a comparison of them vs the sheet you get off Jake of you don't beleive us about the difference in quality...

I've got a few myself thanks, they're perfectly fine and as good as any clear scuff sheet that isn't a hammer edge. I just find the strategy Vitas takes embarrassing, by all means say what you have available, but why feel the need to lie about the quality of other products, whilst claiming that you have the "best quality stuff."

I actually found them to be thicker and stiffer than the stuff Jake sells, which leads the the edges ripping (maybe I should use the middle) more than others.

Would I use the SS sheets on my own bats? Yes, but only because I already have them.
Would I recommend then to others? Yes, but buy a few as they need replacing a few times a season if you want your bat to keep looking tidy.

You get what you pay for. There's nothing wrong with the SS sheets but I do find the stuff off the roll is superior. Just my opinion

Nope.

Knocked in dozens, maybe hundreds of bats purchased from Asia with this exact sheet and very similar sheets wrapped round the handle that the customer has asked me to apply once I'm finished.

My experience is it tends not to stick, leaving bubbles at best, or at worst a scuff sheet on the floor after it falls off before the customer collects their bat. Sometimes it seems a lot more brittle, other times way too soft/delicate (meaning it will tear very easily) compared to the sheets we sell.
