Trainer spiking
« on: March 27, 2016, 01:40:47 PM »

Interested in spiking some of my old trainers up instead of spending a small fortune on cricket boots, does anyone know how hard it is to do them?? I've found the correct replacement soles and necessary glue but unsure how the spikes work, do they screw in like normal cricket boots and if so where in earth do you find the small threads they screw into other than old cricket boots?? or are they glued as well??

I believe its a 'tee nut' that's used that then the spikes can attach too.

Rather than start a new thread - is there a consensus on what colour trainers should be used for cricket spiking?  It seems most (if not all) are still white, and as a student of the game I wouldn't want to go against convention  :D.  It's just that I have some cracking pairs of trainers ready to be spiked - one pair are bright blue, the other grey.

Before I send mine off to be done, just wanted to seek opinions...
