Salix Præstantia GRADED
« on: March 30, 2016, 07:27:34 PM »

Hi guys.

As some of you might have seen in the eBay bargains, there was a Salix that did not sell the first time around.
- I really did not understand, but given my match bat breaking, I needed a new stick.

I simply wrote the guy, offering him 110£ plus shipping (12£) and he said yes. (Mainly due to his smashed up laver selling for much more than he expected)

It arrived yesterday, and boy oh boy, is it a looker for a graded bat!

Grains: 14 straigh'tish, 4 in the heartwood, 10 in the white
Finish: Great, smooth like a babys bum.
Shape: Midlow middle, full profile, minimal concaveing
Weight: 2.10-5
Pickup: Nice and even, feels good in the hands
Handle: Semi Oval - and thick
Ping: Responsive all along the profile. Seems hard, sounds like one of the GM Players (808) I had through earlier in the year. Needs mallettime and love.

A bit unhappy with the setup though. I dont mind a scuff sheet, or edgetape, but I do like being able to get rid of it. On this bat though, they fittet the edgetape first, then the sidestickers, then the scuff and finally the face stickers. Rendering it impossible to take the scuff off, without removing the stickers!?

Pictures!

A good looking bat and a good way of getting you to send it back to salix for a refurb...
