It must be something about where you guys live. I've not had any of my lavers gain weight here in Melbourne

I had five or six and all put a lot of weight in meant to be 2.8 up to 2.11 s had to end up selling them on which was a shame as are stunning bats that's for sure

First 2 did put on weight (cracking bats though) but rest have been fine.

I think this is only a UK problem. My Laver actually LOST weight here in the US (as per James' own prediction), and whenever I receive a bat from the UK, it tends to lose an ounce (sometimes two) on average.

This might be true. My B3 was supposed to be 2'13.5 but came out at 2'11.5 when I weighed it yesterday.

@brokenbat & @bostoncricketer , I have not experienced that with my bats. But also I haven't weighed my bat after the first few weeks of receiving any of my bats from the UK.

So, are you suggesting that I order a bat an ounce heavier than my normal weight?

If you're picky, yes, you should. This happens more in the winters here on the East Coast. The heating probably makes it really dry inside and speeds up the process. One of my B3s arrived in the summer, the weight stayed constant, and then BAM, dropped 2 ounces in a month during the winters. I personally see that as a big plus

and.. I took my kit to the UK last year - that same B3 came back an ounce heavier!

My most recent ones haven't put on any weight at all the last time I checked. A bit annoyed, as I had ordered one about an ounce and a half lighter than I usually use, expecting it to put on that much!
