Had our first midweek outing last night and it was freezing! Got our season started with a victory though after getting promoted which is pleasing! We batted first and made 174/2 off our 18 overs and bowled the oppo out for 109! Didn't get a bat (due in at no.5) but took 4 wickets bowling pies!!

Great to be back :D

2 cancelled Saturdays so far. Hoping for some pre-season matches this weekend before league starts May 7th. Forecasting snow, rain and lots of cold so could be an interesting trip over to the Isle of Wight. Fortunately just been sent this helpful guide.

Anyone else got their league games starting this weekend?

Not looking forward to fielding in the cold again...

well 1st league game of the season tomorrow - should be interesting indeed.

both pre-season games got cancelled so i have had zero match practice in the middle
3 of last years regular 1st team have left the club (either not playing or gone to another club) - including our leading run scorer (for past 2 seasons) deciding last weekend he didn't want to play this season!
Oh and the captains unavailable tomorrow - so muggins is having to do it.

Yep it's going to be a good 1st game - i reckon i can get at least 3 jumpers in the bag

First game called off, supposed to play in Largo but the pitch was unfit. Hopefully I can get a game in the 2nd XI.

All league games tomorrow already called off.Thats 3 in a row for some teams. The league have issued a statement looking at trying to fit the games in later in the season so a few double headers are on the cards

Forecast isn't too bad for tomorrow but our match has been called off. I was only 50/50 anyhow as I haven't fully recovered after playing on Monday evening in semi-Arctic conditions.

First Saturday game, waste of time for me! Did not bowl or bat as we bowled them out for 90 inside 30 overs. Won by 8 wickets.

Hope for more of a game tomorrow.

Another friendly for me today
RACC vs Ickenham
Icks batted first and were 97 ao., I got 1 wicket LBW
I, for some reason, opened the batting in the RACC response and retired on a solid 22 to give other batsmen a chance, and we got the score comfortably with 6 overs left

Tomorrow is my final preseason game, against Maidenhead and Bray, which usually is quite a tough team, so it should be interesting
