I'm going to invest heavily in a batting coach at some point in the near future, back to back 2nd ballers, not an ideal start for me with the bat.
Bowling was a lot better this week, felt more comfortable with the way it was coming out.
But we lost, but onto next week again

Big win for us yesterday as from skippers terrible decision to bat first us getting 112 ao then oppo being 40-1 then 57 ao

Little 5 for 10 for me with my first ever hat trick

Back in the 3rd XI this week meant an away trip. Which saw me open the batting an the bowling, however I had a diamond duck after my partner decided to run me out! Not the start to the season that I would've liked, better with the ball though. 9-2-24-1 how I didn't take more in my opening spell I will never know.

Well done mate,  glad you joined the hat trick club!  Was it spin or pace you were bowling ?

Need some tips urgently regarding my batting.

Week one I was a bit of a todger, and got myself out stumped, to a spinner who thought he was bowling beauties, but my opinion was they were pies. Next week I thought.

Went out to bat this week, and again, feel like the bowling just isn't good enough - raced to 9, then got a jaffa - a completely unintentional jaffa. Not one ball had done anything, no seam placing at all out of the hand, and to top it all off, it pitched middle-leg and clipped the off stump.

The tips I'm needing: How do I get some luck?! Some "batsmen" I have seen get to 30+, whilst being dropped 4 times on the way... I seem to be the man that no matter how hard hit will be caught. Never missed on a stumping etc! Need the luck soon, as it's really preventing me playing a higher level - have been referred to as a "great net batsman" Haha!

Batted first and in our 30 overs got to 281-3 (ridiculous, I know)
I managed to score my first ton ever, ending up being caught on 104 after batting 29.2 of the 30 overs.
We weren't really bothered in the field and they crawled to 150-8 (took two catches behind the sticks).
All round good day out

Played my first ever game today! We bowled first, they hit 274 off their 40 overs. Bowled my first 3 overs for 3 runs, yet ended up bowling 8 overs for no wickets and 35 runs (not bad considering the result!) Though being hit for 17 off my last 2 overs wasn't brilliant, but our astro wicket is perfect for big hitting. Took 2 catches at deep mid-wicket and dropped a diving one at short leg.

Apparently we were missing most of our top order and it showed as we were about 30-5 off 14 overs! I went in at 7 with our captain who was 2 off about 30 balls! He said to just have a hit and i made 14 off about 20 before playing a stupid shot straight to cover! Very disappointing as i was dealing with their left arm quick really well and hadn't had any trouble until then! Turns out i'm more of a batsmen then i thought i was. (We were 79 all out in the end) Me and our captain both in the teens and extras the only other one to make double figures.

35 over game against Wood Green, Wiltshire based team on tour.

Batted 7, joined the duck club. Sigh. We made 198, opener scoring a sensible 88no.

Dropped an easy catch at square leg but then took a jammy one in between my legs, ha. Then got two run outs, second being a direct hit after chasing a ball at third man.

Overall, fairly chuffed! Was terrible at run out work over winter nets so to nab two early on is alright.

I scored my first century of the season today!
I also scored a duck and a fifty.

I went to watch my team and ends up scoring the first innings.
35 overs a side, contrasting fortunes for the openers. One for a 2nd ball blob while his partner made 109 before retiring hurt
The number 3 was bowled for 2, with number 4 unlucky to be run out on 15.
Batsman number 5 was one of our U15s, and he got a standing ovation, he took 8 off the final 3 balls of the innings to end 52* (his maiden 50)

No idea about the 2nd innings, I went home for a curry and a beer, but it was a good afternoon in the sun (getting windburn)

I haven't played yer due to weather and this weekend decorating! (Earning early season brownie points). However my new team played their first and last friendly before the League starts.
They batted first lost by 10 wickets as they only made 49. I like to think had I played things would have been much different however it's more likely they would have struggled to make 45!! 😂

First game of the season today against Bardwell CC nice day quite sunny and midly warm when sun was out. Anyway we some the toss and bowled first, snaffled my first catch of the season behind the stumps standing up to our young swing bowler which was good, they made 120 all out mainly due to some excellent fielding and catching and solid bowling as they took 34 overs to get it.
I opened and lost my partner 4th ball to a good Yorker and the bloke was quite sharp, got myself in and got to 25 and felt solid before a bit to much early season confidece trying to hit first change spinner back over the top and spooned up in the air after misjudging the flight, really quite annoyed as I was batting really well and we had just lost No3 & 4 but middle order saw us home easily enough inside 27 overs.

Good weekend for the club with win yesterday and win today so two league wins in opening league weekend for the club. Have a break next weekend as odd numbers in sat and sun leagues

Played my last game of preseason today, and it was an eventful one
We batted first and went from 60-odd for none to 70-odd for 7 in the space of 6 overs.
I was down at my native 9 in the batting order, but came in and had a good 50 partnership with the number 8 (who normally opens). However once he was out we called again and I was the last man out for 14 of 135 ao.
Maidenhead and Bray however didn't know what hit them when our skipper decided to open the bowling with a middle order batsmen, who then proceeded to get a5-fer in his 8 over spell!
However the game was shifting momentum from one team to the other throughout, and with 12 overs left M&B needed 15 runs, with 3 wickets left. Until then I hadn't bowled in the game, but charging up the hill I promptly removed their top scoring batsmen, bowling him for 46. Then a few overs later my bowling partner removed the ninth wicket, and in the 37th over I bowled the last man, and we won by 5 runs

Sorry I got a bit carried away and it probably sounds like I'm a bit full of myself, but it was rather tense and it means that I haven't lost any games her this season

I didnt realise Wooburn Narkovians played Sunday league cricket? Nor Fulmer for that matter? I'm assuming that's who you play for as that's who they were playing today. Nice teas at Wooburn, bloody cold there mind and have to park about 5 miles from the clubhouse!
