Let me guess. He was dropped on 0?  :D

Also. I take it that isn't THE Tom Curran??

No he didn't give a single chance, and no it's not

It was just an onslaught, continual clean hitting. I've never known anything like it, I must admit it was brilliant to watch

Cruickshank's done well for Bury to be fair. Hit 169* in his 2nd EAPL game. As well as 136*, 128* in the EAPL as well, just checked. Not bad.

Our final Saturday game was rained off, there wasn't anything to play for as we were definitely 3rd and just missing out on promotion, but would have been nice to finish the season.

Personally managed 930 Saturday league runs with a couple of hundreds and another 4 scores of 88+ too, and 13 wickets in my first year bowling part time left arm offies after the body broke down bowling seam.

All in all, a successful season even though we just missed out on our third promotion in a row.

Played for 4 teams from 3 different clubs.. Long story. However,  676 league runs and 7 wickets. No dropped catches (usually field at point/cover). Quite happy with the batting and catching (ground fielding wasn't what it used to be). Not much of a bowler so happy with the wickets. Hopefully will only play for one club next season.

Fantastic game on Sunday at Chipperfield Clarendon after Saturday was rained off.

We lost the toss and the Oppo decided to bat. We were frankly awful in the field, dropping 7 catches as Chipperfield put on 200-8. I batted at four and put on 160 with our number three with me scoring 79, leaving us with 10 required from about 25 balls. He then hit one straight at square leg and ran, leaving me well short. Then he ran out our number five, six and seven leaving us at 196-6 with 6 balls left. Our nine plopped one up in the air and it fell agonisingly short of their fielders as they ran one before our number three hit a four through midwicket to finish on 73-4!

A great win against a great set of guys at a fantastic ground with delicious teas. A top Sunday!

It does, but I figured I had half a chance of making it where as by the time he turned round he was gone. I was about half a yard short, but didn't stop running until I got to the shower!

He ran our number 5 out even though he screamed no at him, so there is an indication. His 72 came off 108 balls with only 6 fours, he runs hard when he's hit them!

@Lumsden you only have yourself to blame there, you had the opportunity to score 12!  ;)

Good news is that I've just heard our 2nd XI game is going ahead this Saturday after all so still got a good chance to top those averages.

Primarily a bowler......only bowled 75 overs, taking 17 wickets...few oblige tears....mainly as in overnight and not fit.

Batting got 280 in 22 wish innings. 230 in last 4 innings lol go figure!

Shame season is over!

Played a game for Stoney Stratford 3s today.  Probably played at the best 3rd team ground I have seen,  Campbell Park,  which was Northants Academy ground for a long time.  Modern facilities,  huge scoreboard and pavilion. When I saw wicket was a slightly damp greentop I wasn't convinced I would get a bowl , but I was told that track was specifically built for county cricket and is a road.  Anyway,  when the oppo were 100 odd for one I got the nod. Didn't turn much but I just bowled straight and picked up 4-36,  cleaning up 10/11 in consecutive balls as we bowled them out for 174. We made steady progress and I eventually came in at 5 needing 30 odd to win with 8 overs left. Initially I found the deck a touch slow but didn't take long to get going and I finished with 22*  as we won with an over to spare.  Was a bit of a revelation to time so many deliveries and made batting a lot easier!  Lovely place to play.
