Our league season finished last Saturday, unfortunately we were relegated, which wasn't on the cards at the start of the season, too many of us had a bad season. Was due to play tomorrow but unfortunately the game has been cxld, so season over.

Highlight of my day yesterday was being stung by a wasp !!!

To darken my mood even further, I ended up stranded on 0no after facing just 2 deliveries. I only need to score 3no then I would have topped both the batting and bowling averages for our 2nd XI. Supposedly next week is the final week of the season but our 1st XI are all off to a wedding so looks like the 2nd XI will be made to fulfil the 1st XI fixture.

@Lumsden you only have yourself to blame there, you had the opportunity to score 12!  ;)

Tours to play the Japanese national side in October for their warm up to an Asian T20 comp, and HKCC for the Bokara bell memorial trophy in December, season over for me otherwise.

Fantastically well spirited last game of the season yesterday for Firle against the Strollers. They batted, got 175 from 32.3 when rain came, so we tried to chase their score in 30 overs in continuous light rain. They were a lovely bunch of blokes to play against, and played in the right way. Personally got 2/18 from 5, with my own brother dropping a tough chance at slip. Batted 6, and got a few incredulous looks as I wandered out with my b3 looking brand new having received I back from repair/service on Friday. Got 70* as we fell about 15 short, hit a couple of big sixes that sounded like a rifle of the bat, and last ball when we were destined to lose I got out the ramp and got a two. Slightly annoyed that my two highest scores were the last two weeks of the season, but ended up with 4 50s (62*, 68, 69* and 70*) and two fivefers all told. 50 wickets in the season a decent return, slightly down on last year but I bowled a lot less on Sundays, and was in the firsts most of the season and didn't have uni cricket to bolster my numbers.

Horrific loss for my lads this morning at Stony Stratford. Bowled on a wet wicket, and had SS 57/1 from 10, but the u14 bowlers got panned with one over going for 31, and ended up chasing 182. Finished on 89/9, with some good fielding, disciplined bowling and one absolute shocker of a run out decision against my best batsman adding to the misery. Not our day, but I don't think many 22 year olds have coached teams to win their league, be county cup finalists and league playoff finalists in one year, so the trophy cabinet/cricket cv will look good!

Dipped my toe in the water with a new team today. Played for Wolverton Sunday Xi against Milton Keynes CC.  At points some of the cricket was distinctly village,  the oppo,  apart from the skipper and maybe the openers (who didn't look very good either)  didn't look like they could bat. Our bowling matched them at times but it at least we could point to a load of colts learning their way in adult cricket.  Wasn't at my best and 6-2-7-1 came as a let down given the average  batting ,  should've done better but good to bowl a few overs. Fortunately the oppo only scrapped up 114-7 in 35 overs on a slow but blameless deck. We knocked them off for 4 down,  with our oppo proving better bowlers than batsman. Didn't bat but didn't mind as the colts all chipped in and got us over the line.

Skittled oppo for 90ao after 27. Didn't mess my finger up, fielded well and got me a run-out.

Chased it 2 down in 22 overs, over by 4:30...

Finished off a pretty poor season with a 54rtd, but scratchy at times but good to get a few runs in. Didn't enjoy this year much, roll on some winter nets and next season!

Played my first sunday game for a while yesterday, good fun and won which was nice, bowled 4 overs for not many but no wickets and got some decent turn, batted at 3 and only got 9, however i felt comfortable at the crease and hit a few crisp shots on 0 always hitting the fielder which was annoying, finally got off the mark with a lovely 4 through mid off and then another through the gap between point and cover, then in the next over tried to hit the opener back over long on and made a right hash of it to be bowled, daft way to get out considering i haven't played that straight all year! oh well hopefully have 1 more game and another chance to bat next week, then onto the long winter

My rear end is still sore from what happened yesterday! Just look at the scorecard and make your own minds up

The only thing I won all day was the toss, we were hungover as we ended our saturday season the night before. but there pro just decided to take us all to the cleaners, it didn't matter where I put players he cleared them. seriously one of the best players I've ever seen.
Our ground is no postage stamp
