The whole league was rained off on Tuesday, and fixtures rearranged for September. Looking at the weather the past few days it's been pretty good and the it's pretty sunny today.

Wish our league had the sense to do this! Most other leagues around us (West Yorks) have done similar.

Yeah, it was a pretty good decision with the forecast, rather wait a week and play it later than not play at all. It happened a few years ago too. I saw the A/W and Craven League were called off too.

Cheer up Aidy, it is April 16th, club cricket didn't use to start until May! It is only because we have had an early Easter that cricket is starting so early!

My club used to start the first Saturday in April and end the first Saturday in October it used to feel as if the winter had been shortened.

Both out friendlies this weekend! Luckily, as I've torn my hamstring yesterday playing rugby yesterday, not the start I wanted to the season!!

Second ball duck out LBW batting at 8. We were 33/7 then got to 124 all out. They got in with only 2 down.

Played Abergavenny today, great deck considering the weather. Sadly they have lost a fair chunk of their first team so it was decidedly one sided

People still enjoyed it as its cricket and lovely weather, took a catch which means I can remember how to do it still and a cheeky 42* off 37 balls (raaaaaaapid) to top it off

Not even got close to an out door net yet this season let alone a game with the way the weather has been. Lucky our first league game isn't until Sunday 24th with sat league starting on 30th April.

First game of the season today
Played Brookwood CC, we batted first and got 170 odd all out after losing 4 wickets in the last 15 minutes when our captain said he was declaring
I myself was 2 not out from 4
Then we bowled them out for less than a hundred, at one point they were 36-6 and one of our bowlers got a triple wicket maiden
Again myself bowled up the massive hill, and got 2-7 from 4 overs

Overall it was a very good first game of the season, the pitch wasn't too bad considering the amount of rain in the last week

5 out of 7 1st team games played and concluded. 2nds play the opposite fixture on the same day, I'm sure the discrepancy is entirely coincidental...
