I'm jealous that people have started playing already, both our Saturday and Sunday teams are due to start their season this weekend nut with the amount of rain we have had I'm not getting too excited yet, I reckon it could be May before we see any cricket. Hope the cricket and the weather Gods get together and prove me wrong though. What do you guys reckon how are your pitches holding up?? I'm based in the North-West

Our league are apparently discussing putting the season back a week because of how wet it has been. It seems our ground is one of the better ones but has not been helped by bunch of caravaners who decided to pitch on the outfield over Easter. Given the forecast of 2 days more of rain this week and 10c on Saturday, I think that may be the best option in our area. September is usually nice anyhow and how many times at the end of the season has the following Saturday been gloriously sunny?

First game called off! No surprise given the weather these last few weeks but still disappointing. At least skippers booked a lane at Stumps for this aft so we can enjoy some cricket but nothing beats playing!

Lost out on two games today, sad times. Supposed to still be playing tomorrow but I doubt it. Hope it's not going to be a summer of 2012 or we could see clubs struggling as 2012 nearly finished a fair few.

Cheer up Aidy, it is April 16th, club cricket didn't use to start until May! It is only because we have had an early Easter that cricket is starting so early!

It would be interesting to know how many of the league systems play mid April to September and who plays May to Aug only..

May till the start of September. However if you're in the cup 23rd April till mid September. Cant wait till next week now!

Our league season starts next Saturday and runs till mid September (tomorrow's friendly isn't looking good as both my clubs games are off today).

Was supposed to have a sixes tournament up in Chester tomorrow but that's been postponed now. By the sounds of things most of the games in Cheshire this week have been called off.

My clubs matches are off today heavy rain all day yesterday freezing cold at the clubs registration evening last night woke upto four inches of snow this morning.

The whole league was rained off on Tuesday, and fixtures rearranged for September. Looking at the weather the past few days it's been pretty good and the it's pretty sunny today.
