3XI friendly today, opposition have cried off because they didn't want to travel due to not liking the look of the forecast!!!!!!!!

Bloody brilliant! Leaves yours truly without a game!!

Batting average update, still 111.00 as I wasn't required to bat following sneaking a 10 wicket win after an hour rain delay. Only needed the game to last 40 minutes after bowling them out for 11. Yes,  11.

Our 2nds game was called off because the pitch was soaked, but the oppos refused to accept it and turned up and demanded to play, wish our match had been called we were shocking.

Opposition Captain rang at 10am and said I wouldn't bother coming if i we're you but we went anyway left our ground at 10.30 am fielded first opposition scored 149 and then the rains came hung around till 6.10pm match abandoned got home at 8pm.
Not a great day wish our  captain had taken the opposition captains advice and not bothered.

So did ours, the omens for this great new 3rd XI league don't look good do they? At least our oppo scratched midweek so I was able get a game for our (ahem) 5th XI, we had a lot of kids and were trounced by a more experienced side. Ran myself out for 34, discovered at last that my Hattori does have a middle.

Hmmmm, yes - it's going to be an interesting year I think, with ability levels polarised, let's hope we don;t lose to many due to the weather.

Played yesterday, bowled 12 overs for 53, got 1 wicket which im disappointed with as had 2 drops and 2 LBW turned down so. they posted 192, and we chased it down with 2 overs to spare so a good win!
Play again today against a side we chased 300 down last year so could be a good game

Pretty decent start to the season, had a couple of fifties in pre-season and uni games, then had a good game last week hitting 130 and taking 5-fer in a league game. So far- 361 runs @62 and 14 wickets

Didn't play and wasn't there but we chased down 86 albeit with 5 down. Played on with heavy rain, can imagine seeing the skipper having a chat with the oppo and wanting to get it done.

4 wins from 5 ain't a bad start. Now for a 3 days Wiltshire tour...

Skippered today for my side, bowled 10 overs for 40, picked up 3 wickets. They set us 202 to win which was going to be a tough one,

We chased it down with 1 ball to spare, so as far as I'm concerned I'm currently a genius captain who knows how to manage a run chase

Won today, but didn't do much. Having problems with our outfield mower and the outfield was a little long. The groundsman decided to still us on the net wicket towards the edge of the square. Two years ago it was outfield and had a lords like slope to it. Fearing the worst we stuck the oppo in they crawled up to 118-9 in 40 overs thanks to us giving everyone a bowl and dropping 8 catches. I eventually got 2 overs at the end but it was that kind of day. We pretty much reversed the batting order and stumbled over the line 7 down. I managed to get 2 before flashing a long hop to slip. It was massive village cricket all day. Both sides sent down loads of rubbish and didn't bat any better. One of the oppo who I assume was on something did something very odd. I came out to bat and at the end of the over he walked across the wicket and scraped his studs at one point on the edge of the wicket. I asked him what he was playing at and he said "just cleaning my studs". He chirped me a bit after but it was pathetic by my standards. He's been a bit of a muppet before but the wicket scraping annoyed me and the groundsman. Told the oppo captain later, who wasn't impressed!
